Re: Henna Supplies Wanted
I actually recommend chocolate for practice to students who take my henna workshops also.
You can actually use ANY flavor (in case you don't like or can't have chocolate) of frosting as long as it doesn't have "chunks" of anything in it.
You thin the frosting to a nice consistency by adding a bit of corn syrup.

You could use lots of things... ketchup, mustard, mayo, Herseys syrup, grape jelly (warmed a little), honey... hmm, maybe not honey... bbq sauce, toothpaste...

You can also use henna and practice on paper to get the basic moves and strokes into your hand.
Or henna that is old (like it's been made a week ago), on the hand it will last only a short while, but you still get the feeling on how it dries, how it comes off and so on.
Will definitely try the chocolate idea!

Re: Henna Supplies Wanted
be careful using old henna.....it is great for decorating things like envelopes, boxes, etc.....but it will not behave the same way as fresh henna for good practice. As the henna paste gets older, it will start to get clumpy and bits will dry and cause clogging.....so it will not handle the same as a smooth fresh paste for design work and practice. You would more likely just become frustrated.
It is a lot like practicing face painting on one of those plastic heads. While it is fine for laying out a new design, it sucks for practice of technique because it is just not the same as painting on real skin.

Re: Henna Supplies Wanted
Another suggestion is Liquid bling to add to your design I have been doing that for a while now and the results are awesome and look very pretty.
Re: Henna Supplies Wanted
Also for practice and to do designs on people that dont want the henna but like and want the design.
Re: Henna Supplies Wanted
If henna supplies are still needed, I may have everything you need. I have tons of powder and premixed cones that are ready to go. I do not have jaq bottles at the moment but I can probably get some if they are needed. Oils and recipes are also available.

Alicia,
Post some pics with the glitter gel and glitter you have done. I took Alicia's class at Fab. and she showed us how to take a $10 henna tat up to $25 with some glitter and glitter gel.
Here are a couple of the pics.

Re: Henna Supplies Wanted
Here's a henna I did this weekend with Alicia's mix. I sprayed it with spray bandage and covered it with plastic over night and the color was amazing in the morning.

Re: Henna Supplies Wanted
