Minor surgery then a 3 day gig?

Okay, here is my mini problem. I have to get 3 places removed off of my face at the end of August. (No worries, they aren't anything terrible) The Dr. says to me, "After the surgery I want you to take it easy for 3 weeks." I really did start laughing at him right there. Anywho, I have been asked about a Labor Day weekend thing, 3 days but only 3 hours each. I don't see why having 3 moles removed on my face should make me have to "take it easy"?

Has anyone on here ever had little surgeries like this? and how do you feel after if so?

I can imagine the questions from the kids about the band-aids but , I will have my "story rehearsed by them. LOL

If they have already been biopsied, and so you KNOW they are "nothing" AND you will be under cover, AND you are wise enough to know yourself and say "STOP" if you start to feel compromised AND you have someone who will to the heavy lifting and driving etc etc etc... I would not shake my mommy finger at you for doing it.

I had two moles removed from my face and I don't remember any problems after it. One was between my nose and upper lip and it was an awkward place because it moved all the time with talking and eating, but no real problem. Maybe I wasn't allowed to bend over. I was allowed to work with it.
Mine were cut and stitched (is that the right word?). They had tried to freeze them before, but they came back.

I also had a place removed recently and although it was a little sore, I had a slight throb nothing ibuprofen didn't take care of. Just be careful.

My doc just told me that I need to leave a bandaid on for a few days...no adcive to take time off...LOL

I had a large one removed off my ta-ta. Only one day was it a little sore. hasn't bothered me since and that was over 8 years ago. I am a crazy woman about sunscreen and covering up now though. I know my bodies limitations and as long as you are good to yourself and don't stress anything, you should be fine. We all deserve a little pampering and being told to take it easy every now and again! Hope everything goes smoothly for you.

I had a mole removed right above my knee, I had to take it easy and not walk around lots for the rest of the day, but I was back to work the next day. My old boss had them removed multiple times from his face and he always came back right after the appointment with a band-aid and worked the rest of the week. How many days are in between the surgery and the gig?

I have had moles removed the past two years. Last year was a large one on my back. The only thing that bothered me was the darn itching from the sutures. I was back to work the next day and at that time it was doing home health care and moving elderly around. I felt well.
But....you still need to listen to your body. What may work for one person may not work for another.

Oh I had 2 removed from my bum and It was the single most worst thing I ever been through. They did it in office. I was out for over 2 weeks!! but then again, my area was hard to keep clean (got infected), and I couldnt change dressings myself. Id rather have had a csection again than that. I still have nightmares about it, (people chasing me around to give my bum a shot) but I have heard anywhere else and it goes just fine and your back relatively quickly. My husband had one removed on his foot and it was sore for a few days but he could walk on it that night. Each his own

Annette, there are 2 days between surgery and the job. I have worked for the people many times and think that if I would need to change plans because of feeling poorly ,they would understand.

Taradoodles, that sounds terrible! I have had 3, vertical c-sections and that was BAD. I can't imagine how bad your bum hurt if it was worse than that,LOL!

wow...comparing mole removal to child birth.. ouch must have really really really hurt.

I would never wish the pain of child birth on anyone!

I had a natural birth and a horizontal c-section. (emergency, I went into shock because the placenta burst and blood was everywhere!) luckily after several blood transfusions for baby and me... we turned out ok.

Jody you should be a-okay though. I couldn't imagine having to wait for people to change the dressing on my bum...you're a trooper taradoodles.

p.s. I think I worded that wrong. I wasn't saying anyone wished the pain of child birth on anyone. opppsss.... I was just saying that is the worst pain I have ever experienced and hope no one else would ever have to experience it. Hope that sounds better. (I need to proof read sometimes!)
