Post by Arty-Farty Party on Wed Aug 03, 2011 5:35 am

Yep. Channeling my inner blonde Wink while trying to load my staple gun I pumped one straight into my the pad of my thumb then promptly fainted. pale I'm ok of course but it made me wonder what everyone else got up to today?

Oh no! That sucks. How's your thumb now?

I had my ditzy moment yesterday - a friend asked me to pick her up at the airport, and i KNEW it was a domestic flight - but that didn't stop me from looping around the pickup area (no idling allowed and her plane was late), going into the parkade and waiting for 20 minutes in the INTERNATIONAL Arrivals.

Then I had to pay my $8.50 so I could leave the parkade, and loop back around the airport to the domestic pickup area, where I wouldn't have had to pay for parking anyway. Sheesh.

I fainted once when I had to push an earring through a closed earring hole. Not sure why I thought I HAD to, but I did...
Woke up lying in the scattered kitty litter...

I've never fainted in my life.... Did you take a photo? That's what I would have done before removing it.

I've done nothing quite so stellar as you today... I think you get the prize.

Back when I worked at a magazine I once sliced the tip of my index finger with an x-acto blade while trimming a layout, leaving a flap (eww). One co-worker kept asking me to see it (?) until I left for the ER and they stitched me up. @Shannon: I did take a pic while waiting for the dr. One for the album! Lol

I've had some doozies. I'm pretty accident prone. Haven't put a staple in my thumb but I've come pretty close.

I remodeled several houses and had a lot of cuts. One of my "favorites" was removing these huge nails from a space under the stairs at a remodel and tugging super hard with a hammer and when it finally let loose my arm caught another huge nail below it. Still have the scar.

Here's the post from my remodeling blog:

Glad I'm not the only one. Smile

No, you're not the only one. I feel UP the stairs yesterday. Managed a couple of blue bruises on my legs, and I have really sore arms because I grabbed on to the balustrade (to stop my face from hitting the steps too) and nearly ripped them out their sockets. Well, I could be exaggerating, but it didn't feel too good.
I hope your poor thumb is getting some R&R... and it wasn't your painting hand!

Ha! You all crack me up. What a bunch of clutzes! (is that a word? oh well, it is now.)

No I didn't take a photo, I was too busy lying on the floor unconscious. pale

My gorgeous daughter quickly came to my rescue with a glass of water, cool face washer and a lollipop to make me feel better. She's cool as a cucumber.

I've always wondered how people can be so stupid as to shoot themselves with nail guns or saw off their own limbs. Now I know!

Have you guys heard of the Darwin Awards or is that an Aussie thing?

I love that your daughter gave you first aid... water, face washer and a lollipop. That's way too cute.

Yay for your daughter - what a thoughtful and clever gal! I love you

My kids would probably be standing over me as I regained consciousness asking me 'what's for dinner?"

Very Happy

Okay, so a very stupid thing I did once (so many to choose from) was walking barefoot in the kitchen one day (no, I wasn't pregnant too Very Happy) when I felt something on the bottom of my foot - instead of looking to see what it was, I just lifted my leg slightly and rubbed the sole of that foot on the top of my other foot - to remove whatever it was...

...unfortunately that 'thing' that had been on the bottom of my foot turned out to have been a piece of glass - (somehow it had just stuck to the sole of my foot without cutting it) - which then sliced open the top of my other foot, when I rubbed the sole of my foot on it...

yeah, not smart Smile
