I got a FAT MAX!! How do you support the lid?

Post by HappyVickery on Sun Aug 07, 2011 12:31 am

I'm so excited! I got my fat max! I tried to tell one of my friends at work how cool it was, and they just didn't understand, but I know you guys will! It is so perfect, and there is enough room for everything. I LOVE IT!

Soooo, one question for those of you that use it, how to you support the top when you use it as a table? I'm a little scared about putting anything heavy on it. My dad (the mechanical one in the family), has said he will figure out a way to put on a removable leg. He's thinking he will need to attach a piece of wood or something to the top, and then put a screwthing in to have the leg screw off and on. Anyone else tried this? or do you have a better way?

Anyway, here is a picture of mine all loaded up! I'm so excited! It's like Christmas Smile can't wait to figure out how to decorate it!

I used a rolling suit case before buying this, and I have a little carpenter sholder bag that I can take to smaller gigs if I decide I don't want to take the fat max somewhere. I LOVE IT!

I just don't put anything really heavy on the lid part. All my heavy stuff is in the larger compartments.

I just got one too! It was my birthday present from my parents! My dad was happy to buy me a tool box Razz I haven't put anything heavy on the lid yet, but it seems pretty sturdy! I love that thing!

I just got mine in the mail today.... I love it, my concern it is about the weight, how do you put that big thing in your car?

I had a Charger and put it in the front seat. Now I've got Sienna so I just left it up and put it in the back. It's a pain and sometimes I get hubby to put it in Wink

I also put the heavier items on the lower levels. When I have had to use it as a table, I put a larger board over the open lid area so it becomes a table. I can still access the lower levels and the board seems to distribute the weight well. I used it last week at the National Night Out when my space was super limited. Worked great for over 3 hours!
