Training near Pittsburgh.

Post by Smiletime on Sun Aug 07, 2011 9:14 am

It seems that most of the training I have found is in other areas of the country. I have watched all the YouTube videos, but I am more of an in-person hands-on learner. I am especially having problems with the split cakes. I can't really travel very far, so has anyone who lives in the area ever found any local training? So much of it seems to be in either California or Australia. I'd go as far as Cleveland.

You could take a class at Michael's on one-stroke painting & just take what you learned & apply it to your splitcakes.

Great tip Linda! I started with One-Stroke classes, about 10 years ago and then when I started face painting 8 years ago, it was a big help!

I'm in PA, but 3 hours from Pittsburgh Sad I'm south central Pa 5 minutes from Maryland. Maybe one day we could jam together. Smile

I called our local Michael's and also another local craft store, but they don't offer one stroke classes. Maybe I can try our local Community College. I just want someone to show me how to hold the brushes correctly. I try and try to follow the videos and mine look terrible.

No, I still haven't found anything. I did register for FABA TV, and it is nice, but still not the same as in-person training where they can see what you do and critique...If I find anything I will let you know.
