workshop with Heather Banks
Heather Banks came to the Netherlands for 2 days with workshops and I went there yesterday.
She is such a nice person. Glori was with her (also very nice). They have so much fun in what they do.
I learned a lot. We practised one stroke and she learned us several strokes. We learned how to put them on a face and how to connect to make a design come together.
I felt a bit unqualified, was surrounded by very experienced painters, but had fun! We were asked not to take pics because it would take too much time. There was someone taking pics of everything and we will recieve them.
I only have this pic taken with my cellphone.
(I'm not that tall, she is just a bit smaller lol, she told us she thinks all the Dutch people are so tall)

Wow Nancy, how cool. Look forward to those pics.....and by the way, I remember Dutch people being really tall too! hahaha (and the guys were pretty easy on the eyes! ) hehehe, arrgghh such a long time ago!
Re: workshop with Heather Banks
I was on holiday! I wish i could have gone! and I'm not tall either..
Re: workshop with Heather Banks
How fun and awesome! Heather is so tiny, I was surprised when I met her. She is so sweet and such a wonderful teacher, I love her! Being a leftie makes it even better for me since I don't have to mentally reverse everything, lol. Her entire office is such a great reflection of her personality and joy for what she does....very inspiring!
So glad to hear her exciting travels and meeting lovely friends!
Can't wait to see more pics!

Oh, good for you, I am jealous (in a good way) I admire her a lot, and how she has transform her passion in a successful business.
Re: workshop with Heather Banks
Because she has crossed the ocean, she could come to Spain, too. We're next door!
So glad (and jelaous) for you!

Re: workshop with Heather Banks
She was in Rome too before she went to us. Still closer
Are there wotkshops near to you sometimes? I was surprised when I noticed that so many painters come to the Netherlands regularly. It seems to be a popular thing here, I never knew. Sounds silly maybe that I didn't know.
I received many, many pics yesterday, but many show other people and other peoples work, so I' m not posting these. I can ofcourse post the pics with my own work, but I don't know if I can post pics with Heathers work and examples. Maybe in the 'where is the beef' section, so they can only be viewed by members? Or in my gallery? What do you think? Can I post her workshop lessons here?
I would love to share with you, but don't want to offend.

Re: workshop with Heather Banks
Heather learned how to use a brush with arty cakes (put down the bristles while turning and hold straight up)

We practised with these strokes to make a design. (my neighbour helped me and added some strokes)

She also learned us how to use a sponge with the cakes.

She took her stencils with her and made a design with it. On our last practise we could use them. I used a cake and combined sponging and brushing for the base. Then I put purple with the stencil. I was very happy with the effect, but didn't know how to finish it. Heather helped me and finished one side with teardrops and dots. I did the same on teh other side. SHe was so helpful and inspiring. Learned a lot.
