I am another drooler...I need start making money so I can buy more colors!!
Those of you who re-pot your paints (or make your own splits in those pill containers) do you not use any snaz? Are the brands you use okay in that plastic? I mostly have snaz (and I've heard nasty things about snaz and plastic) but I'm afraid to move around ANY of paint from their original containers (although I think thats also because I'm new and don't have as much paint to begin with, lol)

Re: Okay, I have gone off of the deeep end!
I would avoid putting Snaz in anything BUT Snaz made containers... So far my paintsaver tray is fine (but it was made for use with artists paints which are a little more "chemical" than face paint).
Re: Okay, I have gone off of the deeep end!
But re-potting other brands (besides Snaz) is considered safe then? I like the setup and hope to do that in the future, but is the type of plastic something I should be concerned about when choosing new containers?

Re: Okay, I have gone off of the deeep end!
Ideally you should avoid non-food grade plastics due to leaching of chemicals from the plastic. I do not use bead containers - the plastic is the cheap, brittle type and I'd be worried about cracking and leaching.
Just my preference.
Snaz eats certain types of plastic... I think there is info about it on the Snaz US site www.snazaroo.us

Thanks for sharing this info. I slice and dice my paints as soon as they arive and make split cakes and half cakes so they take up less room. I'll have a look at the craft stores around here for new ways to chop up my paints
I really love seeing other painters kits.

okay thanks for the info!! I have some bits of snaz left from the little party palettes and wanted to make splits but maybe I'll just keep it as is for practice

Thanks for sharing Suzy!!! That looks awesome! That's my dream be able to get more colors in my pallet using less space.
I have a scrapbook case and I'm running out of space.
Please tell us, Does it close, when u use both sides?

It does.... depending what you put on the other side
The way it is pictured, no it does not. I have another laptop case with my split cake in it and this laptop with the paint has more paint on the other side. I will take a picture tomorrow for ya!!

Thanks Suzy! I love seeing other people's setups...Especially yours since you appear to like to colour-code, and always improve, while making it super-efficient
- and I have those tendencies too.I like the idea of having things stuck down somehow (magnets, or velcro??) and storing pots without lids, so as to have a faster setup/cleanup. Is that what you do?
Or do you just set up what's in your photo onto a table?
I can't seem to let go of the fabulous idea of re-potting larger cakes into the round (bead) containers. It seems like such a great way to get so much paint into a smaller area. Especially if you're replacing bits of one-strokes or cutting your cakes up anyhow. How long have you been repotting into those, and have you noticed any issues with cracking, etc.?
Shannon mentioned food-grade plastic, but does anyone know if the plastic our paints come in (Wolfe, DFX, Paradise... not sure about others), are actually food-grade plastic??
Sorry to hear about your sponges... bad fiance!!!
My 'helpful' husband once chucked a newly knit hat I'd just finshed making my daughter, into the washer/dryer right after coming home from vacation. I had spent about 6 hours on the drive down (to the vacation destination) making it, after ripping part of it out and re-sizing it to fit her perfectly. He shrunk it...to doll-size and it was completely ruined of course. If he wasn't so darn cute and helpful, I swear...
So I empathize with your frustration.

Re: Okay, I have gone off of the deeep end!
I love when Suzy shares photos! Great work! I think I might give it a go. I need to consolidate.
Re: Okay, I have gone off of the deeep end!
If I had this much paint I could die happy.
Do you use two different kinds of black and white? Just wondered why you have two pots of each... I am considering doing this too so I can get a good brand for lining and softer one for bases.
