Her fur is amazingly life-like. Very nice.

Thanks! Very Happy I love painting the big cats!! I'd not done a 'traditional oil' in about 9 years!! So it was kinda nice to get all the old supplies out and do a canvas painting.

That dragon was off the top of my head and a compilation of different aspects of Korean Dragons. Due to that, it might look a bit strange from your 'typical' dragons!! But it needed to have these aspects, like the 4 claws, the rabbit like eyes, the antlers, and the beard/fur and the fishy scaled body. I actually have a two page write-up of all the symbolism in the painting...but just touched on it in the Youtube. The write-up is mounted next to the painting at the Dojo.

The actual picture looks better in person (no glare, better view of the details). I also touched it up a bit more and did a few minor changes before giving it to them, but I didn't have time for another 'last shot' and my camera kept doing wierd things anyway! So I just put this together with what I have.

The liquin layers make it glare really bad until it totally 'cures. So it will take better photos in about a month. I might ask them to let me take a few more pictures of it once it's totally 'cured'. Very Happy

Awesome painting, amazing details and facinating story about it!!! And, it only took two weeks to paint it- what a great honor for master Lee!

Happy Painting,

Very Happy Two weeks of painting on it all day and half the night! I got up early, fed the kids and started working on it until lunch. Made sandwiches, then painted...made dinner, then painted. Got the kids in bed...then painted!

I was trying to get it done in time for his birthday, but missed the mark by a few days! I spent a week just working on symbolism and composition too, then doing some rough sketching for placement.

I'm probably going to work on another, as we have our annual charity 'Break a Thon' in September; we pick a charity and try to raise money for it. I'm going to donate the next one for 'auction' to contribute to the charity. Probably another 'Tiger and Dragon' type theme or just a Dragon...as those are eternally popular with the Dojang students!

Thank you for the compliments...Blood, sweat and lots of tears went into this painting! (Mainly the kids whining about why I couldn't do 'this or that' while painting..hehe).

sunny Thank you!

Now I'm messing around with the idea of doing a 'tiger striped' dragon. Just for fun! Maybe even give it fur! haha
