just getting started

Post by srbolton on Mon Aug 22, 2011 10:02 am

Hello All! My name is Shelly and I am a brand new face painter. I had done a little bit of cheek paintings years ago at a party/carnival for a friend's church, and was mildly interested but got busy with other stuff and fell away from it. Recently was approached by someone at my work to possibly do face painting for a carnival we will be throwing for our nursing students (I work at a nursing school)- so I started looking up some 'how to' stuff online and it has really piqued my interest again. I have gotten my basic starting tools- already had quite an array of paintbrushes since canvas painting is also a hobby, but I went and got a set of basic colors of water based face paints, and a few plain sponges (since the ones I had already are the rough, oddly shaped kind). I have practiced a few faces on my son and also practiced a little bit of jewelry on myself. Looking forward to showing my work and practicing, especially some girl faces when I can find a guinea pig to practice on!

Welcome to the forum! I always have to beg my little girl for girly designs. She usually wants to be a monster Smile That is when I can actually talk her into being painted at all! lol
