Wedding Paint

Post by Taradoodles on Thu Aug 25, 2011 2:27 pm

I have an odd question of sorts.
I am in the process of booking a reception party for the wedding but the bride wants everyone to get eye masks in her wedding colors. All different. Is it possible to get a split cake made with her colors? Ive never made a split cake and Im not sure how it will look. Is it worth getting a cake just for the event then using it later for other event as another color choice? maybe free events when i need to practice and volunteering everything to use it up?

Why not make one yourself?

If, after the wedding, you have paint left, cut it up again, and reuse it in another color combo! Or, stick it back in its original container.

Splits are easy. Just be patient.. and realize that it's never going to come out perfect!

I have splits galore! Some are beautiful, some look... well... rough! *L*
But, in the end, they all work the same!

Best of luck!

It would be worth it to personalize a cake, since it can always be used later. What are the colors? I'm betting the combo already exists somewhere.

Im awaiting her response back, this is what she stated in her first email, that she wanted her colors used for masks. sooo I was preemptive in asking the professionals. =0)

It would probably be worth it, and if not, add the cost to your fees. And, I remember Metina made special-request spilts at one time... You could ask her.

I second Linda, depending on what her combo of colors are, there might already be a split in existance.

Also, why would you assume you'd never use the color combo again? Wedding combos tend to specifically be colors that look well together. I've yet to see the bride that wants the bridesmaids in burnt orange with garish purple trim.

At my wedding, we used navy and sky blue. All family members (grandma, my mom, mil, sisters) wore navy gowns and my two maids-of-honor wore sky blue. A good friend had copper, orange, and dark brown. Two years ago I was maid of honor at a wedding where the colors were berry wine and dark brown. I've DEFINATELY seen those as splits before.

When you find out the colors, do yourself a favor, purchase a 50g split and an arty cake size one too.
