Krylon gold
Help! I bought 3 Krylon's Neon pink and green and then the Gold. When I was at the store I was able to test the gold and it was really nice. Since I have been home and trying to use it, nothing! I can't even get it to load the brush. I can tell that it is too dry, so I have added water several times, and even let it sit- but it still won't load on my brush. The pink and green are more moist and work fine.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Tia

Re: Krylon gold
Id take it back and trade it. they could be to dried out? if it worked at the store then thats my op.
Re: Krylon gold
Once you've used it a store won't take it back(since it's make-up).
Kryalon Metallics are not the best
I know my neons don't work well w/ a brush, but are wonderful w/ a sponge, so try using a sponge. If they're dried out, you could add a few drops of glycerin to your spritzer bottle(just a few or your paints will be way too gummy). Spritz the cake & it will moisten & cream it up. I'd say next time go w/ Wolfe or Tag for gold(or DFX if your still using them). Especially if you want to use a brush.

Re: Krylon gold
they should take it back if its defective! Even makeup, ifs its all cracked up and not whats expected they should. i dont buy makeup but they shoudlnt be allowed to do that.
Re: Krylon gold
It's probably not defective... It's Kryalon Metallic=gives the impression of being defective
Seriously, it probably will cover well w/ a sponge, but isn't bold enough to work w/ a brush. My neons look like finger paint when I try to use them w/ a brush.

Re: Krylon gold
Linda, I agree, the neon's remind me of finger paint too and i don't love them. I haven't tried a sponge and will do that next. The gal at the store said they were the best, and since I am new, I figured it would be best to try out some different brands. But really wish I had picked something else.
As for the gold, I am thinking of taking it out of the container and "crumbling it up and adding more water" Don't know if that is a good idea or not. It literally won't come off the cake at all. at first I thought there was a plastic cover over the top- but nope.
the store I bought them at is far away, so not even sure if it's worth the drive ;(
I am going to try some glycerin and more water + the sponge and hope for the best.
Thanks for the advice!

K-R-Y-O-L-A-N....
You probably bought the Metallic Gold but tested the Interferenz Bronze.
The metallics are hard to work ... Add some water to the cake (like 3-4 drops) and let it sit... it will make a gooey spot. Load your brush or sponge and WORK it to a paste on the cake. It is a matter of technique. You don't need to chop it up. Lots more water than you think and work it hard into a paste like consistency.

I prefer K-R-O-L-A-N. But I'm weird...
I agree, you probably tested the Interferenze and bought the regular gold. How much was it for the pot you got? If you had a minor heart palpatations when you paid for it, you probably got the regular metallic gold. If a team of paramedics had to whip out defibulator to get your heart going again, you know you're buying Interferenze...it's worth every shock...trust me...
Re: Krylon gold
Ok- so when I realized I spelled it wrong (right after i posted) I went back to edit it and the edit didn't show up? Weird.
Anyway, about the paint, I think you are right, I must have bought something different than I tested. For about two weeks every time I have opened the paint I have added water, and last night I tried to use it and FINALLY would load the brush and sponge. It is not the vibrate true gold I thought it would be, more of a brownish, greenish gold. But at least I got it to work a little. The gold I got was about $9 for a small container.
I also played with the neon's, which I noticed said DayGlow- any idea what that means? They were working a little better for me too, I think it just need lots of water.

Re: Krylon gold
Hi, I have the kryolan gold that came in my palette and i also found it hard as a rock. This is going to sound weird, BUT I was so determined to get it to work that I scratched at the surface with the back of my brush (literally poked a hole in it) made a little puddle in the "new" top surface, and it worked great. I know this sounds odd but I do this each time I use it and it seems to work for me.

Krylon is a spray paint NOT to be used on people. I'm anal. I think I've mentioned that a few times...
