First Jewelry Attempt

Post by FoxBot on Thu 25 Aug 2011, 18:33

What do you think?

Just a simple design that I tried on my wrist, I have never painted jewelry before. I haven't even really tried to do much that is really supposed to look 3-D (with facepaint). How can I make it pop more? Is it better to use metallics for the gems and metal or just reserve them for the metal part of the jewelry? This is just grey with kryolan silver over it...I want it to be shinier. I have been messing with putting the kryolan silver over wolfe silver, it is pretty zazzy. I haven't gotten a chance to test it as jewelry yet tho.

I was thinking the same: It looks perfect to me!

I too am always on a quest for shiny silver without having to layer or add things. It seems impossible.

Thanks guys, I was inspired by some random painted jewelry. So I looked up a bunch of real gems and came across Lily Waters .pdf. It helped simplify things, I was trying to keep my light source direction uniform to help the 3-d effect. Lol it took me a while I would have to reserve these sorts of things for adults...and maybe really calm children. Smile

I love really tiny paintbrushes, and small details so I guess it's just kind of natural to paint small dainty things.
