Hello from NYC :)
Stumbled upon this forum today while distracting myself from my less than fabulous job, and just wanted to say "hi." I've been a painter for the last 15 years (wow...did I really just say fifteen years?), but I only found safe paints about 9 years ago when I discovered Snaz. I stopped painting a couple of years ago when I moved to NYC, and just recently decided that I missed it way too much, so I'm trying to get back into it. Actually, I'd be thrilled if anyone wants to check out my post on the kits board - I'm rebuilding mine and wouldn't mind some input on the new and fabulous things that have been coming out in the last two years).
There are definitely some wonderful artists here; can't wait to read more of your advice and ogle more of your fabulous artwork.

Welcome!!! Let me know if you want to get together and practice anytime. I'm new to this, totally, but excited to learn more. I'm free a lot and live right on the ABCD train line in Manhattan so can get pretty much anywhere. I'm happy to see another New Yorker here!!! Hope you enjoy it and learn a lot!

WOW ! 15 years......I bet you will have a lot of info to share with us "newbies" LOL! I've only been doing this for about 4 months but I'm already sure I'd miss it! Welcome!
Re: Hello from NYC :)
rfears,
Lol. Don't let that fifteen years fool you. For the first eight or so I was using ::GASP:: acrylics. ::shudder:: I hate to think what I might have been doing to kids way back when. [
] Happy to say that I've been using FDA compliant everything for the past seven, though.
Add to that the fact that I was only ever doing cheek art in acrylics, and that once I started using FDA-compliant stuff, I still wasn't painting full-time, and I really don't think I'm all that experienced.
p.s. If that's your work in your avatar, and you've only been painting for four months, I'd say you're doing fabulously!

Re: Hello from NYC :)
Why Thank You!!!! Lol! My dad wanted to be a Hollywood Make Up Artist (He was a Cosmetologist) and my mom was a Professional Cake Decorator for 10 years - the creative gene runs in the family!
