Has anybody used the Snazaroo Butterfly Fan Brush?

Post by Gretchen on Fri 26 Aug 2011, 17:07

Does anyone out there use the Snazaroo butterfly fan brush? It looks really interesting and I think I'm going to order some soon for my shop. But, I'm wondering if I can just cut a regular fan brush and get the same effect since that looks like what it is...anybody tried it out yet? Here's a link to their site if you want a visual...you have to scroll down a ways: http://www.snazaroo.us/products.htm

I use them on wiggly lil ones for a super quick butterfly. I use my one stroke split cakes for color since it makes them more interesting. Mine is the Butterfly brush #2 lemmie see if I can find a pic!

Here are some pics I found, all using the butterfly brush, my rainbow one stroke (most popular) and black liner with white dots. because it 'prints' pretty you can do as little or as much detail as you want.

Thanks for the pics! That's awesome! It's nice to see what size they turn out with too. Hard to tell on the Snaz website.

Gretchen - check out Metina's in the forum shop here because she cuts some of them herself if I remember correctly... there are some nice ones.
They are a just a fan brush cut down if that helps with the size.

Gretchen, I have 3 different sized butterfly brushes I cut from clearance brushes I got at michaels. Love them! So very handy.

I just love you how guys can make beautiful butterflies with your butterfly brushes. I can't seem to get the hang of it. Since I've seen your pictures though, I think I will keep practicing with it. I have the same one as Suzy's. I think I get the motion wrong. It just doesn't come out the same. I've watched the video, but I think I give up too quickly. Thanks for renewed inspriation.

I load it up, and 'stamp' it on the arm with a little wiggle then raise and flip it to do the exact same on the other side. if you pull or push the brush it morphs into a blob rather quickly i think.

good luck!!

I put hair gel in mine and let them dry , then cut with sharp sharp scissors, but honestly..unless you get the brushes on sale it is easier to just buy them from the forum shop.
