Prayer Request

Post by MelodyFPL on Sat Aug 27, 2011 9:55 am

My brother was cut off by a woman in a car while riding his motorcycle in my hometown on Wednesday. He is in ICU and will most likely have his leg amputated. He isnt one of those jerk bikers who abuses the road, he is a good safety conscious biker who follows the rules of the road. He was cut off by a woman who tried to skirt in front of him to make it into the CVS parking lot before the long line of traffic that he was leading. She hit his front tire and he went down, his lower leg is completely destroyed. He just got married last year and has been doing well for himself and his family. I would rather him keep his leg, so if anyone has experience in miracles, please send one now. Otherwise, all the prayers, energy and good vibes you can send are much appreciated. I am very angry and very upset. They wont let me talk to him until he gets out of ICU and I am 400 miles away.

Oh goodness... I'll be thinking of him now while I am working (face painting) today. My husband is also into motorcycles (also a good safety conscious driver) and I get a tiny bit scared every time he goes out too - mostly for these types of situations. I wish you well... Like a Star @ heaven

I'm so sorry, Melody. I'm thinking good thoughts for your brother, and not so nice ones for the person who hit him.

My boyfriend is also a very conscientious motorcyclist and we're both regular cyclists. While there are certainly asshats on all forms of transportation, cyclists and peds have the least protection if a driver isn't paying attention. I hope that woman wakes up every morning for the rest of her life with the choices she made that day on the top of her mind.

Your brother and all the family will be in our prayers! Thank God he is still alive! I was in a motorcycle accident in my 'youth' (someone ran a stop sign) and I know how vulnerable a biker is! I know prayers work...God Bless!!

Thank you all so much. So far all I know is the following:
My brothers bones in his foot and ankle are completely pulverized, they managed to reattach one vein to his foot but they dont think it will hold and it wont do any good anyway without any bones. Considering amputating at about mid-calf. Cracked pelvis, broken ribs, collapsed lung (but the lung is healing very well).
The driver got a small ticket but I am pretty sure my brother is going to sue the pants off of her.
I am super glad it wasnt worse.

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry! Sad Count on me to be praying for him, his wife and your whole family. I'm praying for miraculous health, healing and protection for him and for supernatural peace for you and everyone who loves him. You have every right to be angry, but when you feel it, try to channel it into prayers upward when you can. Big hugs and continuous prayers. Like a Star @ heaven
