First "real" gig

Post by summers4seasons on Mon Aug 29, 2011 4:15 pm

Ok, it's official! I am a "real" face painter now! Hahaha! I did my first fair this weekend. It was terribly slow, but I assumed it would be. That's why I wanted to start with it. I did 20 kids, 2 adult tats, and 1 back mural in 8 hours. Unfortunately half of those were kids of close friends or my own. So, after I paid my helper and babysitter I made $20. But I may book a couple bday parties, and I gave out 20 business cards. But most importantly, I leaned tons! I discovered that I hate having my paints velcrod down while I'm working. And that I need to keep my brushes sorted while I work. And I learned that I LOVE my new job.

I think the slower the better for the first few gigs. Eventually, the line seems to never end! LOL

I keep my brushes organized in one of those ice cube trays that are for pop bottles. You can get them at Walmart. I love it!
