My, almost FREE office

Post by Jody Rife on Wed Aug 31, 2011 9:57 am

I am getting really excited about having my own little space. My husband has been working hard to finsh our basement little by little. This is my new studio/office space. I got the solid wood (man is it heavy) Desk for FREE, that ginormous mirror was FREE! We already had the extra cabinets because we had a wall that had to go when we first moved in and the cabinets were on it. The little end table between the 2 cusion chairs, FREE! The 2 cushion chairs $15 each with the cusions!! They had been marked down like 75%.

Now, the pics are a bit decieving and there is an open playroom and workout area(I never use) behind me as I sit but, who cares? I'm happy. cheers

We still have to fix the opening in the wall and hang some pics & a really cool Longenburger magazine rack (also a freebee) for my mags, and FP books.

I'm just so excited I had to share. :)Sorry the pics are dark, I need a new camera and it is afterall in my basement. Smile

Yeah for another thing to write off on your taxes! cheers
Hopefully you will find a *free!* folding room divider screen thingy and then you will never have to think of that treadmil again!

Thanks ladies. Smile Our dining room table had been my little workshop mess for a very long time and I think my hubby got so tired of the mess, he got busy on making me my own spot. He is a bit of a neat freak, this can be a blessing or a curse, depends on the day!!! LOL

Geekophile, I am thinking of dividers for just that reason!

You know what else would work well is one of those curtains that run on tracks like at the hospital. If you used Black fabric it would double as a photo backdrop!

What a great idea!!

Btw I use the dining-room table too. I share it with the computer and my hubby's papers. I wish I had my own space...

OOOOOhh! I like the curtain idea! I have a monster piece of black cloth already that a lady from church gave me. Yay ,another freebie,LOL

Kym, that would be cool. Don't think I am ready for teaching but hopefully will get some jam time in with a couple of local gals. Smile

Jody cheers
I miss basements & the added space they give a home(in FL a basement would be an indoor swimming pool Razz ).
I'm waiting & dreaming for the day I have an office/studio for my work!
