Snazaroo paint

Post by imelda99 on Thu Sep 01, 2011 2:12 pm

So i just went to my local craft store and to my surprise they carry the 18ml snazaroo paints. (just 5 colors for now) but the thing is they normally have 40% off coupons for a regular priced item. So ofcourse i used it for this and i get to get my family members to go get me some as well since its one coupon per person. Very Happy Very Happy

I am nearly out of white. It would be awesome to be able to buy it local and save on shipping.

My hobby lobby carries it also, 8 colors , sponges, and the brushes. Now maybe people will quit using palmers. I doubt it. 5 is a great price, especially when you don't have to pay for shipping. Let me give a little tip to those who do not have as much experience with snaz. While they make nice rainbow cakes, and split cakes, they are hard to use for one stroke. I am not sure why but they have to be reloaded very often, which doesn't apply to some other brands. So befor you go cut a ton up to make little one strokes, try just one first.

$5 /18gm/ml makes it .27 per g/ml of paint.
Tag is .21 an ounce

If you are going to buy 5 pots with 90g paint total it would cose you $25 before tax

Since the containers of tag are so much bigger 3 containers comes to 96g of paint and it is 20.25 before the $5 shipping. $25.25

My analysis:

If you are going to buy more than 5 pots of paint it is a better deal (not to mention better paint... snaz is yuck for me). After the 5th pot of paint your savings in shipping is overridden by the cost per unit of paint.

I use nothing but Snaz because I'm allergic to everything else, so it's always good to know where to get it.

Snaz is great paint, but it works very differently than the others so it takes some time to learn how to get it to the right consistency. You can't just put a wet brush on it and expect the same results as the others.

I love Snaz, and especially so being able to buy them from our local craft store!
I have tried all sorts but still always come back to Snazaroo for base work.

Although The Snaz over here costs me $13 a pop..

It is Hobby Lobby but here they only have: Yellow, orange, purple, blue and green.
I am waiting to see if they put more colors. I have other brands as well but some leave stains and i have not had that problem with Snaz so for me it will be easier to have it 10 min away from home if they have more colors.
