got out the spotless 2 book - walls in spotless 1 dont have but for cothes carpet etc the abridged version is to mix 2 drops of tea tree oil and a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent. rub with fingers dab off with cloth to remove colour before wiping to reduce spreding. I have never tried this one.
I usually get it off with a steam machine thing.
Best of luck

Edit
just tried it with a purple crayon it worked really well used fingers then tissue

I'd try a warm iron over a paper towel placed over the art, to lift the wax. Then scrub with a mild soap.
Not sure if it'd work, but I'd try it.

I was also going to suggest an iron and old shirt...but I am not sure it would work for that either, but it does work for candlewax in carpet.

best think is a bucket of pinesol with a little water and a scrub brush

I had some friends draw a crayon mural on my wall once and my mom made us clean it and that stuff worked well

Kitchen paper on it and then iron it.
It takes the grease.
Remove the rest with acceton.

Kye Eucalyptus(spelling) oil for texta Rub on neat and will work for crayons too. We never had textas when my eldest was little. She couldn't help herself. She has two little boys of her own now. hehe.
