Hello! Face painting for colorguar
Hi guys. Very newbie here. Painted the colorguard faces in the marching band last year for the field show. Got a lot of compliments. So much so, colorguard instructor wants to do faces again this year. Last year was all circus animals...not too hard. This year, he wants to do aliens on the order of the Katy Perry ET video. Needless to say I am a little overwhelmed trying to put this together. I want to change face paints. From my research I am thinking Diamond FX is the way to go. Any thoughts? I need to order the basic colors I think and maybe a few metallics. Anyone know the best place to order these from? I have been pricing different sites but I saw where some paint was not really Diamond FX. Also, any pointers or suggestions on the designs would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum...... hahaha I was in our color guard for 10 years.
I love the Tag Pearl colors(shiny sparkly metallic like colors) which you can get here at Metina's shop.

Of course if you ask my husband he would have a different opinion.

Depending on what brand you are using now, you will probably want to give yourself some practice time. TAG/DFX/Wolfe behave differently than Paradise/Snazz. Completely doable, but it takes getting used to it... figuring out how to make them blend, how much water to use.

I loaded some pics from last years show on my personal album. The paints I was using last year were purchased locally. I am hoping to improve the quality of the work with these better paints. Thanks for the advise too.

Welcome to the forum! I personally like wolfe, but have a few DFX and Tag paints.
Ugh. . . .the dfx drama. . .well. . .there is a huge discussion on it here on the forum if you want to know more, but since your are buying new paints, you shouldn't have to worry about it.
Aliens sound like fun. I haven't seen the video you're talking about, but metallic paint makes anything look awesome!
