Tag Black Flaws
Im finding that Tag Black is way to creamy for detailed lines. I cant seem to get it just right. It clumps on my brush, leaves indents in the paint making it more messy. Maybe Im using to much water or maybe not???? Maybe its my lack of experiences but I prefer DFX Black. Its smooth, goes on light, and still has a deep black color. I will be ordering DFX Black soon from FacePaintForumShop.
What do you think about Tag Black? What are your choice companies of black face paints? Snaz, DFX, Tag, Wolfe, etc. tell me why?

I really dislike Snaz. I find Wolfe gets soggy easy, but better than Paradise for lines. I just ordered some DFX black and white for line work. We shall see.

Re: Tag Black Flaws
I love DFX Black and White. I too find that tag black get mushy..and so does the orange...
Re: Tag Black Flaws
I had trouble w/ TAG black in the beginning. I try to work w/ it a little wetter than I did w/ DFX & that helps. It does cream up & get a lot clumpier on the brush. Try Wolfe next time & see what you think. It is by far the best black for linework(their white is awesome too). FYI, TAG white is the same as the black & seems to not be as bold over other colors.
Re: Tag Black Flaws
I agree, TAG black does seem to clump and i need to water it down a lot. Similar experience with TAG white, although not as bad. I just blamed the weather. It's really hot here and figured it was drying my paints out making them gluggy.

Re: Tag Black Flaws
I have found to never use glycerin in my spritz water with DFX or Wolfe Black especially. It seems to make them both goopier. I haven't tried TAG black, but would suspect it's the same...
Re: Tag Black Flaws
Why would you use glycerin in your water? Never heard of this.

Re: Tag Black Flaws
Wolfe black all the way for lines. I love TAGs creaminess for blending and for one-storke designs, but it's not a great product for crisp linework.
Re: Tag Black Flaws
Oh thanks. I'm still learning the tricks of the trade.
I agree; Tag does blend well. Think I will try
Wolfe black. Hope the Shop has it when I'm ready to order.
