Lady Jayne, I love your banner, the canvas style is exactly what I was thinking of! I assume it's rollable? Did you use a sewing machine for the plastic sheet on the top?

For ppf events, I use two or three art canvasses (24" x 36" and 24" x 48"), covered with black glitter felt. I get the felt at a fabric store, then stretch it over the canvas and staple gun it to the wooden frame on the back.
Next, I use photos of my designs (as full close-up face shots) and laminate them. They are all at least 4 x 6 photos, and more often 5 x 7s. I put sticky back velcro on the back of them. Then, I create a separate name label for each, bright and bold and colorful, and velcro the backs of these.
Then I position them all on the boards - photos and labels.
With the black background and the colorful photos, it's very eye-catching. I've also begun to simply lean them against my table and tent legs (I use a bit of cord to secure them). I find that when they're on the ground at eye level for the children, it's a great way to attract people over.
I haven't had any troubles with photos disappearing. The kids do what they're supposed to do, which is to look at the designs and change their minds over and over until it's their turn
).
Also, when I take these pictures, I really aim to have the child smile and have a happy natural face. I take about ten or twelve shots and wind up with a few that just shine. I think it looks really nice when everyone looks so happy on my chooser board.
The design then becomes a complement to the child's joy in an interactive way, instead of just a representation of the artwork. Because my favorite part of all of this is to make a magical experience for the little person.
