Confession Time

Post by OtterGirl on Mon Sep 12, 2011 2:21 pm

I have a problem. Thanks to my father, I've inherited the world's most overactive sweat glands. Whenever I paint my own face, I find the design is ruined after an hour or two, especially when I'm working out in the heat. I know I could not paint my face for events, but it seems like good advertizing and a way to "prove" myself. Any ideas? I was thinking of just painting my forearms or something.

me too. Very Happy

I use starblends or any other type of pancake powder base. If I dont have it around I powder my face first then paint over it.

I have even used a sealant on it as well. Sometimes I use Ben Nyes Final Seal or even a hair spray (Just DONT use these on children)

If it is really bad I stay away from my forehead and stick to my eyes, cheeks, or arms.

Good Luck my fellow sweat buddy. Very Happy flower

When I'm working on set and someone has a similar confession, I apply Sweat Stop (topical antiperspirant) before doing their makeup..... http://www.michaeldavy.com/

If you are drawing on designs, you can use temporary tattoo inks.

Why not try painting a large necklace on yourself? or armbands? I've seen some pretty cool painted jewellery and it's a nice way to advertise something that adults might like done too!

I have the same sweaty problem, also from my father. Off topic, if you haven't found a deodorant that works, try secret clinical strength! Found it last year, and it's the first deodorant that has actually been able to stop sweat spots under my arms. (Yes, gross. -.-)

@Noella Awesome! I'm going to have to give that a try, too!!

There is also a product out there for clowns Smile Can't think of the name right now, but I've seen it sold at just about every clown online store.

@Justine: That's a fabulous idea! I'm always hesitant to wear low tops because I don't want to give the kiddies a show, but I think I could work around that.

@Kicat: I found it too! Love it! Too bad it's so pricey. Razz

I use the No Sweat by Mehron. I don't use it all day every day...but when I need to be painted, I use it for sure!!!
