playing wordfeud

Post by nancy! on Sun Sep 18, 2011 3:18 pm

The last days I'm addicted to the game word feud on my phone. Do you know the game? Anybody else checking her phone all day to see of the opponent has entered a new word yet? Agghh, another addiction....

My phone doesn't do any of that... Being in public is very weird. I'm looking around at the world while everyone else is looking at their phones most days Very Happy

I don't use my cell... I think in the last decade I've made a total of 12 calls - two were because of car problems, the others to call home afte a late night gig... I do not ever take calls on it.

Most people I know have smart phones and spend all their time on them. I have no interest at all in that. I concede it is convenient to have your calendar and other info, and even the internet on your phone immediately available but I can either go get my daytimer to check my schedule or wait till later.

And I am not a computer game player. I "waste" enough time on the computer (like right now! Laughing )

And my current piece of crap won't charge - I leave it in the car for emergencies and it is always dead. I took it to the dealer and they took out the battery and put it back and it worked then, and indicated a full charge... now it is dead again. Useless. I've got a year and a bit to go on the contract and am NOT paying to upgrade. I'm hoping for a free upgrade coupon soon... My old phone was ALWAYS charged as I leave them plugged into the charger in the car, but the current one won't work.

Well I for one can't live without my iPhone. It's my calendar, my computer, my webcam camera and video camera, my TV, my POS credit and debit card machine, my music machine, my video games, my language translator, my yellow pages, my GPS and map, my DVR remote scheduler, my computer's mouse, my calculator, my notepad, my flashlight, my compass, my alarm clock, my audio recorder, my books....it's much much more than that, but you get the picture. Smart phones are very useful tools and I consider mine a very good investment.
Nancy, I just downloaded Wordfued...I haven't signed up yet but I'll do it later tonight....is it like Scrabble?

I totally couldn't live with out my phone. I use it all the time for most of the reasons Stacia listed. I do play a couple of games (Number Cruncher, and Word Mole), but haven't heard of wordfeud. . . .sounds wicked cool though. I LOVE word games. My husband and I are currently playing a card game called Quibbler. It is totally awesome (not on phones - in real life!)

Shannon, it could be your battery--you can order a new one on e-bay really cheap. (After awhile they just fizzle out and die...but order 2, so you can have an extra one for later/charged for a just in case/ emergency).

@Stacia, I use my Iphone the same way like you. Use it for everything. My username in wordfeud is nancy-1967. You can invite me when you're in. (but when I loose, we do the next game in Dutch ha ha). It is scrabble yes.
@Linda, I know about everybody checking their phones. Rather anonymous in the crowd. It is weird and I try not to do it in company.
@Vickery. I think you will love this game too. It is free to download.
@ Shannon: I remember somebody stating she will never enter facebook, use social media and that sort of things. Ha ha. I think when you're contract is finished and you are looking for a new one, you will cross that bridge and then there is no stopping you.

I haven't heard of word feud... but I love Words by post... I think that is the name. Like Scrabble, only you play a word, then wait. The other person has up to 5 days to play. I have 25 games going at any given time. Love it. And I use my little HTC for everything too! I kind of wish I had the iphone for the credit card app... that is pretty cool! lol But for now, this was my first foray into the smart phone world. I will tell you I had a Samsung Focus that I loved and had EVERYTHING on it. My daughter sat it down and it was stolen at the mall. I am so thankful I put a password protector on that sucker! I shut it down immediately, and with it password protected, ATT tells me no one will get in. Whew. A bit more careful now...

LOL, If I wanted to pay an IPhone bill I'd probably have one & be sucked into all that world. It truly is not wanting to pay that size bill & a fear of disconnecting w/ the world that keeps me from one Very Happy

Yeah, Shannon's joined the ranks of the evil Facebook Laughing
