I don't consider the stencils cheating because they certainly can't make a poorly done face painting look better! It just looks like a bad face painting with stencil, lol. If your linework and blending is terrible, there's no way a stencil can help.

I got a few earlier this year. I don't have an airbrush system (yet) so I use my BAMs with a pretty dry sponge. I'm still practicing to get the right look but they are super easy to get consistent results.

I have some of the minis...I usually will embellish the stenciled part, using it as a base. I like them and what they add to my designs. I will try using a smoothie blender, i use a mop...almost forgot...i do like them...they also have a hole at the ends so you can loop them and keep them together

My stars aren't what I'd like them to be yet so the mini stencils of clusters of stars are really neat. I love them Smile

Love what you said. Stencils are a tool not a solution to lack of skills. Now must go practice. LOL!

I have a very naive question concerning these : why doesn't any-one use them for glitter tattoos ?

That's not a bad question...I think it's a matter of the mess. The glue is REALLY sticky so it would be hard to clean the stencil between clients or even after an event. It dries almost right away.

BAM designs are great but do note they are not the only stencils you can use.
And no stencils are not foregoing real art work! They will help you add texture and depth to your artwork - something every airbrush good artist knows.

Look at Showoffs QuickEZ stencils, Party Faces stencils and Trendy Tribals. all have great stencils for texture. Come to FPBAC and I'll show you some cool stencil tricks.

Thanks for the hints ;-). I'll check these too.

I've never been to a face painting convention, and it would be very interesting to go, but I fear this one is going to be a bit far from my place !
