Are their long term effects to beer??

Post by SuzySparkles on Sun Sep 25, 2011 2:11 pm

Weird question eh? Well, I was at a gig yesterday and this idiot spilled a whole cup of beer all over my beloved split cakes.... They were all full of beer. The company has said that they will replace them if their are any problems...

As of right now they seem okay... but what do you think about the long term? Could the yeast pose a problem? I just would like to contact them ri9ght away about replacements if someone would think that would be an issue that could arise in the future, rather than calling them a few months down the road...

So.. your thoughts?

I would consider it a huge problem personally - to be sure, I'd contact the manufacturer, but I'd get them to replace if they are willing - avoid the potential for problems.

I would have the company replace them..you don't know what will happen to the paints...and the smell alone..and making the paints even sticky;;
if they are willing suzy let them replace them...I know you make alot of your own..and that is alot of work...just my 2 cents..

I would also ask for replacements. You don't know the long term effects and that can pose a problem, and I am with barb on the smell.

I would research or call a company about it before replacment. I don't think there should be any problem. and I am sure it was an accident. but I would still call someone and ask to make sure....

Do they smell like beer?
I'm interested to know.
would have the company replace them for you and keep the other ones to just use on myself or at home.
Oh hang on - how many did you lose?

I'm willing to bet the MFG will tell you that they recommend you not use their product with ANYTHING but water spilled on it. They will probably take the road of not guaranteeing their product once anything else has been introduced. Yeast is in every beer...and it's fungus...I would let them replace it.

I think you'd be okay if you spray them with white vinegar (which is cheap, kills mold & is a natural disinfectant & air dry.

wrong kind of alcohol! LOL! Look at it this way...would you dring that beer after the man drank from it? I sure wouldn't! So, I would say just for that alone, along with the unknown, if someone offered to replace, I would take them up on it. You can always use the beer soaked ones on your practice head!

If they have offered, take the offer and replace them.

Me too Evil or Very Mad
Nothing worse than babysitting an adult, and the adult you babysit usually doesn't care what they do, like spill beer all over 30 precious splits.

Ouch! That makes me feel ill just thinking about it. If you can get replacements at no cost to you, why wouldn't you take them up on the offer? New paints plus peace of mind seems like a good deal to me.
