Bracelet Balloons

Post by partypaint on Sun Sep 25, 2011 7:51 pm

Hey guys, I'm trying to find some instructionals on the little balloon animals that can be worn on the wrist. Thigs like lady bugs and butterflies and anything else that is possible to turn into a bracelet. Thanks for any help.

I truly believe you can put almost anything on a bracelet or headband. A very simple turtle or lady bug would be make one bubble for the head, 4 smaller bubbles for legs, lock twist at first bubble and last bubble. Make the body by twisting another bubble from the head to the twist between the 2nd and 3rd legs. Tie a knot and use the excess for the wristband. Add a puff into it for comfort. It will wrap from the tail to around the neck. I twist the nozzle also into the neck and complete it with artwork.
Hope that makes sense Smile

I'm not a balloon twister, but I found this video easy to follow when I needed to....

how much do you blow the balloon up for one of those? and I'm not quite following what you mean by making the body out of the head, how loarge does the first bubble need to be?

It all depends on what proportions you want. I can post a photo a little later. I do various sizes depending on the children. THe whole thing could be anywhere from 3-6 inches long. The body is a bubble as long as the distance from head to tail, not making the body out of the head. It sounds much more complicated than it is.

I'll do a little step-by-step later on.

Haha I can tell it sounds more complicated than it is. I'm mostly a face painter but I have really wanted to get into balloon twisting. I have a small repertoire of animals that I can do but am looking for those wow factors that really make them pop, no pun intended. I'd love for any instructions on simple wow balloons. And it may take me some decoding but I will eventually figure out how to do what you're saying. Thanks a bunch.

It hit me what you meant about the body, I did a passable pink turtle trying to make a ladybug. So simple but an awesome addition, thanks!

This is a video I found. Not the best quality but it shows that technique. YouTube is amazing for ballloon twisting tutorials. Best of luck with them!

My daughter who is 12 is an awesome balloon twister. She learned last Nov. and did her first party in Jan. of this year. She does a turtle bracelet, a ladybug bracelet, and flower bracelet. She also does a flower ring.

Here is the turtle bracelet, ladybug bracelet and flower ring (much the same as a flower bracelet, but made with 160s instead of 260s).
