Anyone use FAB??
I was just on the Silly Farm site and noticed a brand called FAB anyone familiar with it? If so what do you think about it?

Metallic colors are beautiful, it has a smell that cause reactions on some people, 16gr for 8 dollars are way too expensive but 45gr for 11 its a good price.
Re: Anyone use FAB??
search fab paints and a bunch of people have talked about it and reviewed. Big prob is the smell is pretty strong I hear.... I want one of the colors to add to my kit but I will wait until the smell is gone...

Re: Anyone use FAB??
I bought some at FABAIC and mine has been uncovered every since I bought it. The smell is still there if I get super close to it, but it is more of a hint than an overpowering smell now. The metallics are amazing, but I still haven't decided whether or not I will buy them again. The linework just isn't as solid with them as it is with TAG. I'd rather have a multipurpose paint that can be a base or good for lines rather than having to buy one for each.
Re: Anyone use FAB??
I have 4 small FAB colors. They are gorgeous and go on so nicely. I don't mind the old lady perfume smell 'cause I'm an old lady (lol) but it is quite strong.
HOWEVER.... They are already or going to be very soon making it WITHOUT the fragrance. You can chat with a rep online and ask if that has already happened. When that happens, I will be ordering more.

Indeed, I looked at MissRonnie's FAB's last time we jammed together and I am soooo in love with the colors but I can't tolerate the smell. I dont like my paint to have a smell at all, but this is definitely the worst. I heard they are removing the fragrance from the formula, and I will order them as soon as they do.

Re: Anyone use FAB??
I have the ocean shimmer, blue shimmer, glitter gold, glitter white, princess shimmer. I LOVE the green (ocean) - gorgeous for flower leaves and mermaid tails. The blue - eh. I liked it better in the package but it needs to go on the skin thick. Doesn't blend pretty either (doesn't make purple with pink added...huh. But I've decided to just go ahead and order a metallic purple since I seem to be needing to use that more). It did make a pretty peacock though - a very deep blue.
LOVE LOVE LOVE glitter gold and white. The sparkle is already in the paint and could be a great time saver if you don't want to do glitter after. Princess shimmer is more coral than I thought and would probably try glitter glam instead next time (or snaz sparkle pink LOL) but I do like it. Just seems to give more of a sunburned look if I use it too heavy for blusher.
So my faves are the glitter colors and ocean shimmer so far...

Re: Anyone use FAB??
The glitter gold is gorgeous, and I have the Lynne Jamieson rainbow cakes using FAB (they're called "Face Magic" and they're in the rainbow cakes section). The most excellent part about these particular rainbow cakes she promoted is that they DON'T have that obnoxious ridge around them - they're in a flat 32g round container - super easy to sponge!
The smell.. Well... it's....strong. I like the smell of Paradise, but I don't like the smell of FAB - to each their own.
I would not use this product to do linework. It's soft and very blendable, like Mehron Paradise or Kryolan - so awesome for spongework.
Supposedly they're going to make FAB without the smell, but I'm not holding my breath (okay, actually, I am).

Re: Anyone use FAB??
I have nearly all the FAB colors and can't say enough about how beautiful they are. Purple shimmer.... to die for!!!
I have all my paints in a divided craft container so the FAB smell is pretty much non-existent when placed side by side with my other brands... And STILL have not had one customer say anything negative about the FAB fragrance, but have had a lot of little girls say it smells pretty.
Haven't tried white or black for line work but would love anyone's feedback on that!!!

Re: Anyone use FAB??
I have a few colors. The FAB paint is basically Superstar paint. It is absolutely gorgeous, but the smell is mega strong & reactivates once it's wet. Most children comment on the powerful smell. I love the sparkly white & gold. It is a very soft paint, not great for linework. Mine is super mushy. If they could remove the smell I'd buy more.
Re: Anyone use FAB??
After having a couple of children's eyes tear up while using FAB I've decided to remove them from my working kit. We washed their faces and I had them smell the paints I'd been using to see if it was indeed the paint smell as I suspected ... (it makes my eyes water...so why not theirs?) we narrowed it down to the FAB.
Since I didn't have it on or around their eyes, we surmised that the perfume was just too strong for their little noses. Thank heavens they were just at my house for a play date and wanted their faces painted when it happened, I wouldn've been mortified if that had've happend while I was working a paid gig! I don't know why the formulated the paints with such a heavy perfume, but I won't use it on anyone until they fix it.

Re: Anyone use FAB??
I think that by having all my paints in a divided compartment container takes the smell away from all the paints, even Paradise. I have actually asked kids and parents both to sniff my containers to see if they can detect any smell. The paints are exposed to a little more air in these containers and I think that helps to dissipate the fragrance of both FAB and Paradise.

I did a quick one:
I have the white (161) and two blacks from Superstar/Fab. The deep black (163) and the regular black (23). I don't know how they are called in the US. I hope the numbers are the same.
I use the regular black (23) for bases, not for linework. It washes off easily. The deep black (163) is a better alternative for lines with kids, but I still like dfx black most for lines (no Wolfe available over her, as far as I know), but it stains on some skin (mine!).
Same with the white. Great for bases, but I prefer dfx for lines.

When I have time tomorrow I will make a better comparison with a base underneath.

Thanks, Nancy!!!!! It looks like they are good enough to use when everyone else is out of Wolfe... I have DFX white, too... still prefer Wolfe., though.
