Review; Woodbridge, Va Jam Sunday Oct 2nd @ Old Country Buffet 6-9pm
Face Painters are welcome to try out & learn new designs, sharpen techniques, make new friends, share interesting tips & trix, absorbing the marvelous creative energy in great company! Everyone is encouraged to paint but if you don't want to paint, be a model for those that do (a mirror is provided so you can watch how the design is created, upfront and personal ; )
Like the Group's Godmother, Lilly Walters says, "the Jam is not a beginners class but we do share tips & trix", encouraging friends up the skill ladder ; )
You may paint customer's children during my Jam, if you want to ; ) Bring a towel or cloth to put over your paint kit if you don't want to paint the kids & watch other face painters. I usually have an open paint time 7-8pm when I display my 'Free Face Painting' sign next to the register. Please have Tip Jars or emply glasses (seeded with bills) displayed next to your kit when you paint kids the design of YOUR choice. I will be painting various skull designs on the children during this time. Bring your camera and remember, it is a PRIVILEGE to get a free face painting from any one of us, so don't be afraid to give kids a choice of which designs YOU are willing to paint on them ; )
The Woodbridge Va Face Painter's Jam is on facebook, too, so you can RSVP me there. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_187662581263020&ap=1
Location; Old Country Buffet in the banquet room, 2942 PRINCE WILLIAM PARKWAY WOODBRIDGE, VA 22192 (703) 670-6810

From the north, take the Prince William Parkway south and cross Smoketown road to the next light to enter the Borders Books shopping center, on the left.
$13. Dinner is all day eats, before & after Jam, coupons available online & in paper. Endless drinks are two bucks ; ) Please let me know you are coming on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DCMetroFP/ or
http://www.facebook.com/WashingtonDCmetroFacePainters so I can reserve enough tables for us.
See you there,
Susan

Woodbridge, Va Jam Review ; D
We had a great time at the Jam trading tips, trix, paint & goodies! Laura Nigen, a Certified One Stroke Instructor trained by Donna Dewberry was presented with a DFX white & red roses cake and demoed how to paint her fabulous roses and leaves on simulated skin and available arms as we took photos. She was delighted with the DFX light & dark green split cake for leaves!

Special thanks to Metina, for the superfast shipping that got Desiree's paints to her in time for the Jam! Altho Metina does sell split Snazaroo cakes of your choice, I demoed how to create triple split cakes of sparkling Snaz for tigers, butterflies and the Sunset palms (using the small Snaz 8 color kit round sponge) as I set up Desiree's pallet like mine. Laura showed us the 'back door' flap of the pallet package so it creates a nice lasting clear envelope for each pallet ; ) https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=196455233731399&set=a.194660253910897.46338.194637057246550&type=1&theater
Desiree also got the big DFX black & white cakes from Metina and I showed her how to screw them together, giving her an extra empty cake container to fill with another homemade rainbow cake ; )
Everyone loved the new practice tools I brought; the double faced flat practice head and a simulated skin sheet with four sets of ethnic eyes imprinted on it, both great for Jams & Workshops.

Arla Albers brought her hair boings, tinsel and gorgeous flower clips! I got the sparkling orange one with feathers that one of the Jammers said looked like a really nice poinsettia - it goes so nicely with my hair & I love it : ) Arla delighted customer's children as she demoed several butterfly and boy's designs.
As more photos are shared, I will post them in the Woodbridge Jam Photo Album http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DCMetroFP/ ; )
Next Jam is Sunday Nov 6th, see you there,
Susan
