Please post awesome monster faces!!

Post by Kat's FacesForFun on Thu Sep 29, 2011 1:38 pm

Hey guys. I would love for any of you that would be willing to share a good (and quick) monster face for boys this halloween. It's a busy gig, so it's can't take more than 5 minutes. I just want tips on where the horns go... what scale stencils you might use... ect.

I did this on a workshop last sunday. Its is a very quick monster eye and you can easily make it a mask. there are many exampes like this on the internet.
Mine is one side monster and one side flowers.

Done as a 1 stoke, this snake takes very little time too...

Although I painted these, they are my interpretations... none are original. I must say, though that they are vastly popular with the boys, and the skull goes SUPER fast. I also do a dagger through the forehead that goes really fast. Paint the very top one to look like the eyes are open when closed. That is another face, although not a monster that really creeps people out. Eyeballs on their eye lids. Guys usually love it. Hope that helps! Tracy

Here's my standard monster mask - I call it "wild beast" on my board. I use the plastic netting off the top of the clementine orange crate to make my scales.

I can do this in about five minutes, or jazz it up a bit with more shadowing and details if I have more time.

Here a new one I did on the weekend - it's going on my board as it is sooooo much faster then a full skull face - this took 3-4 mins - it's a bit on the messy side but I was seeing how fast I could paint it.

This design is an old one and was copied from one on the snaz site - not very well - so it's not easy to tell it's a copy - but the boys love it - and I let them pick any colour they want.

THANKS SO much everyone!! So super helpful! This is what I came up with after looking at pictures and watching tutorials.

I added the lipstick and liked it better. (especially for a girl)

Cute monster masks

Post by Denise Cold on Fri Sep 30, 2011 2:26 am

These are probably too cutesy for what you are looking for but...
This one is modified from the TAG monster mask with a dragon cake. I use a nice fat filbert to do the horns before I put the one-stroke stuff on...

This one is really easy and I love it. I used a custom rainbow cake and just made a wedge with a sponge over each eye and then blended the middle out with the tip of the sponge. Again, used a filbert to make the horns. It looks so cool on...the picture doesn't do it justice. Would look really cool with a blue cake or a purple cake for girls.

@WM....looks like the best facepainting in El Paso to me! Wink

Krissie, those are just stunning and you make gore look sexy. I look at your technique and learn something from every thing you paint (but I could never pull off cleavage)
