Business Cards!

Post by SillyIzzy on Tue Jul 21, 2009 7:45 pm

What's on your business cards?
Where do you get them?
I visited VistaPrinting,
But I'm exploring.
I'm not sure how to lay out,
Or what to put on, my business cards,
So pictures and suggestions are GREATLY appreciated. Very Happy

The one thing I do is to print the directions to remove the paint on the back. This is something all parents want to know and gives me lots of confidence when pushing the card on them. LOL

Ok,
Is there like a graphic about it,
Or do you just write the instructions? Very Happy

Here's a pic of my card. It's the same design as when I first started several years ago so most of the pics are heavily inspired by other artists, but it's so popular with kids (they love to pick their design off the card) that I've just not changed it. It has removal instructions and other FAQ on the back.

I LOVE IT! I love you
Is there any way I could maybe see the back?
Just the instructions.
I'm not sure,
Which sounds really dumb, bom
What exactly I should write about taking the paint off Laughing

This is mine... I've edited the back a little the last time I had them printed - added email and deleted the clown.

Re: Business Cards!

Doh!

Thanks to whoever started this thread. I was just about to post a pic of my new business cards (just arrived yesterday), and was looking over it and discovered that "mitzvah" was spelled wrong. Sad

How my husband, his mother, a friend, and I ALL missed the mispelling is beyond me, but whatever. At least I caught it before I started handing these out. ::sigh::

They were really inexpensive from Vista Print so I can just fix it an order more, but I hate to throw them all out... It would be terrible to write in the "z" for my event this weekend, wouldn't it?

Would look kind've unprofessional to write it on I think... BUT, that being said, when I moved I printed labels with my new phone number to place over my old number on my cards --- seeing as I had JUST ordered another 1000. We weren't planning to move... but within a week had looked, offered, and got a mortgage... Rolling Eyes

You can get quite small labels - could you print off the word on labels to cover the incorrect one?

And I forgot to say, I get mine (and my postcards too) printed professionally by a local print shop. They do the design layout for me too - I rough it out and they make it nice.

Heater, maybe you can take a sharp marker and just line through the word completely so you can't see it. I think that might look better than correcting the typo with a pen. I would definitely pass them out if they are all you have. Better to have misspelled cards than NO cards!

I have two sided cards. Color on front, b&w on back. THe front just has cartoony kids that have face paint and my contact info. The back is washing instructions (great excuse to hand them out) and a thank you for your business. I get them from gotprint.com which after all was said n done, was cheaper than vista. I think I got 500 for 19 with shipping, and it was even cheaper as you up the amount of cards.

Front and back of mine from last summer. Need to make a new one soon, I have almost used them all. Did a calculation that I hand out two card each day in average =)
I also have one with "washing instructions", that I give out on jobs (that is not included in the two per day)
Next time I will have one with beauty makeup as well!

Getting ready to print some new cards to replace the ones with the misspelling, and thought I'd get everyone's opinion. These are tented business cards - the pic is the front and back of the card (the inside has aftercare and removal instructions for face painting and glitter tats); first pic shows the front right side up, second pic shows the back front side up.

Thoughts and suggestions are welcome. Smile

I'd be interested in knowing what everyone puts down for removal instructions. I don't have a business at this point, and pretty much dabble in face painting. Would be nice to tell people the proper way besides "Wash it off", if there is a proper/best way.

Thanks!

Heather: love that mask!

Kristal: Mine just say: wash of with water and soap or makeup remover. Best done before bedtime. (and then my homepage, and what else I do like bodypainting, special effects and so on)
