Re: Business Cards!
OK Ok Ok!!! I was catching up on my z's the last couple of days..... so I missed the forum poking me. (Thank you Shannon!
Here it is..... I got a very nice graphic designer to do my logo (from Craigslist - pm me and I will give you his name and info - he was very reasonable!) I went on gotprint.com and they give you very nice glossy finished thick full color double sided cards that you can design with their easy to use program and what you see on the program is what you get. I believe I spent about $24 (that included shipping) for 500 cards. My feeling is vista is never really free - they harrasss you - and EVERYONE has their basic templates - making it harder for you to stand out.
Again I can't take full credit someone on a forum said they loved the printer I chose and suggested getting a graphic designer to help get a more professional result.
I think I trimmed off part in my scan of the back side (whoops!) and already I want to change the pictures.....the problem of using pictures is you get better and don't like them as much later. Another reason I like buying them 500 at a time so I can change the photos as I grow.

Re: Business Cards!
Hope it's OK to say here, but I'm a graphic artist. I have over 20 years experience designing logos and marketing materials for individuals and small businesses. If anyone needs help send me a PM and I'm happy to give some tips. If you need any design my rates are really reasonable too. I'm in the process of updating my website, but it has some logos on there to look at. www.catzmarketing.com
Keep in mind that the purpose of the business card is to contact you. The impact should be powerful enough to impress and instill trust that you're professional and creative. Contact info should be really clear so it's easy to call. I like how the front of Wyndy's card is clean and simple, but powerful. It's easy to read the contact info too. Good job.

Re: Business Cards!
FINALLY - new ones are at the printers! I'm so bad at Photoshop it's not even funny - sure, I can twist a giant 7' palm tree with monkeys, but can I figure out how to put crop marks on a business card? Noooo....luckily I know graphic design geniuses, haha. I always think I can do it myself, though...
Anyway, this is what I've got! (Bear in mind there's an extra bit of margin around them, for bleed)
Front:

Back:

Also, stickers I've ordered (3.5" X 2.0") for events and to put on balloon orders etc:

Whee!

Re: Business Cards!
Thanks ladies! So glad you approve...and am happy you like the ladybug! It's pretty adorable, and still fast enough for line work. In retrospect I should have coloured the dots in - but it's still recognizable and looks good, and that's what matters, IMO.
I wasn't even aware that I favoured purple THAT much!! Funny when things just happen, eh?

Re: Business Cards!
Kristal, that is looking really good, I especially like the front page. It is nice and simple, but still give all the information you need, while being different and getting attention at the same time.
Re: Business Cards!
I like it Krystal!!! Very Purplicious!!! and attention getting! Stickers are a GREAT IDEA too!!!
Re: Business Cards!
Kristal,
I learned how to twist the birthday cake after seeing yours in the Christmas card. Thanks for the inspiration. BTW, just how were you planning on using the stickers?
I had planned to hole punch the corner of my business cards and attach with curling ribbon to the balloon creations, but I also like the stickers.

Re: Business Cards!
Thanks so much for the positive thoughts!
Stickers: I can't remember where i read/heard about this idea, but someone mentioned using stickers at events where there was more than one painter/twister - advertising and it separates you even more from the competition!
For balloons, I was going to put one on the back/bottom. I haven't thought about when, specifically, beyond large pick-up pieces - they're business card sized, so a bit big to slap on even that ladybug bracelet - but I didn't even think about that until yesterday. I ordered them solely for that event situation. I haven't decided if I'd use them for events I'm at, exclusively. They were $99 for 1000 - at 10 cents each, I may very well use them everywhere!
