Fixer Spray?

Fixer Spray?
I am painting a couple and their 5 children as a family of raccoons for halloween. The mom is worried that the kids will mess up the paint during the 40 minute drive to the party. (I have painted this family before and they are pretty squirmy!) I know I've heard of using a fixing spray for body painting to help keep the paint in tact, but has anyone used it on faces?
I found this on Sillyfarm: Kryolan 4 oz Non Aerosol Fixer Spray
http://www.sillyfarm.com/store/index.php?p=product&id=2618&parent=223
There isn't any product description to help me determine if this is what I should get or not, so if anyone can give me some feedback that has worked with it, or knows what product I should get, that would be very helpful! I'm thinking I would like to use it on all my halloween customers this year, especially since I will be taking appointments early in the day so their paint needs to last many hours. It also has to be ok to use on the face.
THANKS!

I use that one for face yes - just have them close their eyes, hold their breath, sit still while spraying and then not touch their face for a few minutes after till it dries.

Re: Fixer Spray?
I have used the Mehron fixer spray for arm or leg art. I have used it on cheek art but I don't do cheek art very often. There is alcohol in it so the child must close their eyes or it stings (not worth the risk) It makes the area very sticky for about five or more minutes. Kids can resist touching it, even when you instruct them not to.
I tried it on my own arm work... didn't seem to make the design last any longer... I really don't think it's worth it at all. Hope this helps you decide.

Re: Fixer Spray?
I have never used one but met someone who swore by the Ben Nye fixer spray for summer use and non-smearing... hope that helps! Tracy
Re: Fixer Spray?
How difficult is it remove the artwork when fixer is used? Anything special required?
Re: Fixer Spray?
I never used that before but for me it works ultra strong hair spray, I hope it helps
Re: Fixer Spray?
I use the Ben Nye Final seal in the summer. Only when I might sweat it off at festivals. I dont use it now because it is cold enough out I wont sweat it off.
I dont use it on children. And only if adult beg for a sealant.
It burns like H3[[ when you get it in your eyes and you will tear up and mess the design up anyway if your eyes aren't closed the whole way.
Comes off with soap and water. Just a little more rubbing.
Love it because I forget I paint myself, especially if it is really busy, and wipe my forehead, this prevents the paint from budging.
Oh and it smells like mouth wash.

Re: Fixer Spray?
Pashur suggested Derma Color fixing spray in our body painting class and it was aerosol and dried really quickly and was pretty "thin"?? to the touch. Just put Dermacolor Fixier Spray (Aerosol) in a search and you'll find many sites that sell it.

Re: Fixer Spray?
I have used 'fixers'...and I find they DO help...I prefer the pumps (as opposed to aerosols) as you can fill small bottles to pack with you (I also hate aeresols!) Since these are designed for 'bare skin' I'm a little leary of hair spray as it does get on the face but isn't meant for it. One of the things I learned from this forum is to...stick to products designed for what you are doing!
