Home made appetizer pallette?

Post by summers4seasons on Mon Oct 03, 2011 4:50 pm

Hello all. I have been thinking of making a small pallette to keep in my purse all the time. I am trying to figure out what container to put it in. Does anyone have any suggestions? I considered buying one, but I have several unused paradise colors to make one from, but I hate to cut them up. Ugh. So many choices.

I use a watercolor pallet. You can also use an old multi-color eyeshadow case. You don't have to completely "cut up" your cakes with those- just scoop out a little with a butter knife and smoosh it into the slot. If you stretch some glad press-n-seal over your thumb you can mash your cake right back to smooth too!

I just bought the mini wolf sampler for 7 at party city. This is what I will take, it saved me time, and by the time I would buy a case.... The colors are limited but it even fits a nice little brush with it!

If you can find the 40 or 50% off coupon at Micheal's, buy the Klutz book for about 12.50 and cut out the little Wolfe Bros pallet. It has the essential colors, room for a brush (the brush that comes with is decent-a number 2 or 4 round, I think) and it is shaped like a water color pack. I have a few, made rainbow splits with it. It is a good buy, with the coupon.

The wolf pallete in the Klutz book is the same one I think that I got at party city . It may be smaller, but I think it is the same.

It retails for 24.95, but with the coupon, you can get it down to like 12.50, check the web, and sign up for the email coupons, they send the 50% off one about once a month! Barnes and Noble has the book too, but no coupns Sad

This is an interesting idea, but just out of curiosity, how would you use your purse pallet? If you had a customer that was hesitant, would you whip it out and paint their kid? That would be pretty awesome . . . *eyes Klutz book*

Melissa, That would be on fantastic way! But I love to be able to paint anytime. Many children I know personally ask me to paint them everyone we cross paths. Plus, it is really fun to pull them out at the mall or the park when we go to play.

This is my travel pallet. Princess, fire dragon, snake leaf, water and rainbow split cakes, all snaz, and wolfe black and white. I really need one more spot in this because my white is getting all shmucky there next to the black. I've got a little packet of brushes- 3/4 inch, 1 inch, small flat and a number 2. I really need a number 4 in it too. I keep it, the brushes, and a spray bottle in a little bag and keep it with me. I pained my extended family the other night.

And ya the book was picked up on sale and was the gateway drug. The only prob I've had with it is the back was sticky after pulling off the book but I covered it with a brush wrapper and now it's not a problem.
