Best News Ever!!!

so after doing soooooo much research on trying to find a reseller of face paints locally and having no luck at all!

As i was driving literally across the road from my house to visit lincraft, i noticed a new shop opening "the party shop" coming soon. so i contacted them online just to see my luck, and yep i was feeling lucky! they will be stocking facepaint products brands such as tag, paradise, snaz, ect ect IM WRAPPED!!!! DOING MY HAPPY DANCE! my wallet wont be doing a happy dance seen as i can just walk over there anytime hahaha

anyway prob not very exciting for everyone else, but needed to share my exciting news and who else better to share it with than my fellow face painters who get excited about all the pretty colours oooo ahhhh!!! LOL

just to add they just send me an email saying they would be thrilled to have me as a friend of the partyshop, i can promote my business through the party shop and would be delighted if i worked with them on there opening day as their offical face painter! whoop whoop. Dances some more! This will seriously be HUGE adviting for my business, and only recently moving to this place ill be able to get my face out there

Cool! I wish our local shop stocked more than Paradise, I would so love to get Tag in a shop! I hope that they stock a good color selection for you. I love to go to our local costume shop, but it is dangerous for me to go in...I always end up coming out with more than I went in for! Sometimes you score though, I found a whole bunch of mica powder marked way, way down. That is my excuse to go in...looking for a sale! The paradise brushes call my name...

I would be doing a happy dance too!!! Very cool. Specially when you can work together! Bonus. You'll be over stocked in paints before you know it. I have a FP shop about 40 mins away from me and I always always buy triple what I actually need. Something about being able to pick up and drool over all the products. Just as well it's a bit of a hike to get there. : )

Whoo-hoo! Very deserving news of a happy dance. I'm glad you mentioned it, too, because I have been meaning to put in a bit of research into local resellers in my area. I've come across some fantastic online sellers but every once in a while you just wanna shop the old fashion way:)

Aww thankyou so much everyone for all your lovely support! im seriously too excited for words, the fact that this shop is going to be promoting my business for me is huge, i wont have to do alot of it myself.
after all the clients that go to the store are there for one reason and thats becasue their having a party! and they might just need a face painter! this is the big break i have been waiting for
i feel like i want to give my business a whole new fresh & professional look, so i can walk in with a bucket full of confidence and use this opportunity to the full! Im thinking i might just be spending a bit of money in the future hahaha maybe i will be able to work for the promotional side of things and a discount on product.. thats always a thought. after all i should be getting alot of clients through them what are your thoughts?

FP is not very popular in Spain so the only brand I can find near home is Snaz. So, please, could you tell them there is a huge market to cover right here? I would be doing my happy dance for years if any store 1 hour away from my town were stocking FP paints... I dream about being surrounded by paints and brushes and sponges and stencils and glitter and being able to pick up colours and brands and.... Hey, Pilar, wake up! Eh,uh, what?
Anyway I'm happy (and jealous) for you. Congrats!

They'll really benefit from having your work showcased as it'll make more customers for them. You could even talk to them about you coming in for mini workshops of simple designs for halloween and dance recitals etc.

I have a question for you gorjes...what adhesive did you use for your the on your avatar? I tried to find a previous thread on it here, but can't seem to find one. I'm going to try a version of it for an event in a couple weeks

calming down..... so here it is. after going back and forth with emails. the party shop has had huge interest in me becoming a fulltime employee with them!!!!!! i seriously cant even explain how exciting this is, i currently work full time as a receptionist for an engineering company, and its boring haha.

so to be able to live and breath party / face painting on a full time basis not to mention all the clients i will be able to get on weekends by just working a 9 to 5 job! seriously this is the best thing that could have ever happened to me.... might have a cry lol a happy cry of course!..... now to break the news and give my notice eeekkk!!!!

but seriously i would be bonkers to pass this up!

Caution though... be careful to keep your facepainting business separate from being an employee. They're not likely to pay you $75 - $100 per hour for faceapainting if you're staff. They'll expect you to work for your regular wage. Sorry I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but something to keep in mind
