In Need of Help!

Post by melissaPins on Tue Oct 04, 2011 3:39 pm

I知 recently getting back into face painting again after taking a few years off to help out family. I am in desperate need to make a little extra money to support my 13 year old brother. He was placed with me at the beginning of the school year because of the bad living situation my parents are in. Now I知 26 years old and have a child to take care of its been a very bumpy ride.

I scraped up a very small budget and Metina helped me over the phone pick out a few basics. She was amazing and I am so sincerely great full. I can honestly say no one has ever shown me such kindness.

I知 posting here to ask If anyone has any extra supplies they might be able to spare for someone who is truly in need. Literally anything will help! I知 not sure how we would work out shipping but please let me know if you have any ideas.

Thank you all so much for listening

Melissa.

pm me your address. I have a few things I don't use (attempts at making a split cake that I didn't end up liking, extras I'll never use, a brush or two). My trash may be your treasure. Don't worry about the postage, I'll cover it. It's not much, but every little bit adds up.

God Bless,

Im sorry to hear about your troubles. I have chronic lyme disease that put me out of work and has left my husband the only one working two jobs and we are struggling also. You seem to be a kind person and to take in your little brother to make his life better is a wonderful thing. This is a situation where I wished I was doing better because I would love to help. I do collect bottles and containers and things for say storing or cleaning brushes or items that can be used as brush stands to jars for holding sponges etc. I just hate to throw out things that could have a use. Please PM me if you may be interested in any of my odd little recycled collection of "things"

Melissa, I'm new to face painting but have already "collected" way more stuff than I really need. Would love to help in some way. Let me know your address and what your haven't got yet. Don't worry about shipping. God bless. Martha

Absolutely! PM me your address. Will send stuff. Glitter, sponges, brushes, etc. I'm sure I have some "extra" paint here and there too. I started out with a very small "kit" (3 sponges, a few brushes, a plastic cup, and a small 8 color sample pallet). Then I invested part of my earnings back into the business a little at a time, and built it up sooner than I thought I would.

I can relate to what you are facing in life. I've been in your shoes. My sister was 12 and I was 24 with two of my own babies when she came to live with me. It was a very challenging time for all of us. May God bless you and your home.

I'm sure I have plenty of sponges, paints, brushes, glitters that I don't and won't use. I just gave away an entire snaz palette and a bunch of split cakes to a student as a "practice kit". Nevertheless, PM me your address (you might just want to post it) and I will send all that I can. You're actually helping me out! What better cause than to help another sister of the art? Miracles and Blessings, girl!

If you are still in need of help, please send me a private message with your address and what kind of stuff you still need. Also, if there is anything beyond face painting supplies, anything else you need- I'll help if I can.

Just curious... Has anyone heard back from Melissa? I made an offer, but haven't heard from her. Just wondering if she got her needs met or if maybe she went in another direction?

I was wondering the same thing. I have an extra rainbow cake that I could mail but I didn't see her respond to the thread.
