Look at what my baby girl did... I'm so proud!

Post by Mug Shots on Fri Oct 07, 2011 1:25 pm

With me being an artist, my 2 older kids really gear toward that side of the road. I always thought my son would be a writer (he writes beautifully) and he is in college for graphic design. My oldest daughter has drawn since the day she could hold a crayon and has won numerous awards, so of course she puts it all down to learn to sing. My youngest, who really, has never been much interested in the art thing beyond aborted attempts at this or that, pulled down one of my drawings I did for my husband's grandfather as a gift before he passed. It was 1995, so I was 25 (ish?) and decided she would see what she could do. Mine is first and her's is second. I just about fell out when she showed me the picture. I gotta be honest. I was expecting a stick figure horse and rider...

Kids can be amazing if you give them a chance! I watched mne 8 draw a lion cub the other day I remember I couldn't draw it nearly as well at that age.
Hope you have some more stuff for her to do! shes really good!

Beautiful! My daughters are both awesome artists. I remember I drew a picture of a woman, just to show my oldest the proper proportions, how many heads high, etc. I also drew a picture of a basic face & showed her the proper proportions. She took those 2 pictures & within a month was drawing better than when I went off to college for art(she was 10 yrs old:-) She went to college & became an anthropologist Very Happy She still draws & is amazing at it.
