Glitter gel questions!
I recently got a couple of glitter gels from Metina so I could bling up my designs. These are the ones that come in the bottle with a small tip but also have the metal tip you screw on to make a superfine line.
So I have a few questions because I have never used the metal tip before but I LOVE the fine line you get with it. Do I put the metal tip on at the beginning of an event and leave it on for the entire event or put it on each time I want to use it? Let's say I will use it maybe a couple times in an hour, I am concerned that the gel will dry out inside the tip in that time. And after I take it off and put the plastic cap back on, how do I clean the metal tip?
Thanks, I look forward to getting some advice! And any other tips anyone wants to share about using glitter gels would be awesome!

Re: Glitter gel questions!
I think most people put a straight pin into the opening between uses? I had one but could never get it to work well and for some reason let Marcela talk me into a colour that I didn't like besides, so I gave up on those things.
Re: Glitter gel questions!
Yup, pin. I'll take it out and pierce the paper towel (ok, usually I just let it sit there), bling the design then stick the pin back in. No problems!
Re: Glitter gel questions!
I leave the metal tip on all day without any problems. If it sets up a little I just squeeze a little harder onto a tissue to get the glob out. No problems. I LOVE my liquid bling!

Oh thanks so much! A straight pin makes sense, I will try that. If I find myself using the bling a lot I may try just leaving it like Summer does and see how it goes. I guess I was just worried that the whole bottle would dry out on me but thinking it through, I can see that won't happen.
I should probably replace the metal tip with the plastic cap at the end of the day, right? And then clean the metal tip with a pin I assume? Or do you just leave the metal tip on there with the pin in it all the time?

I switched to using a plastic "stringer" (from hang tags on clothes purchased at the store) when I had a pin go all icky on me. Just found one that was the right size and stiff enough and had a big enough "handle" for me....

This topic was discussed on a uk forum and the tip was to use the interdental brushes that are for cleaning between teeth . Safer than a pin if you should lose it at a party etc too.
