Hello from Ellamenno!
Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum and just started face painting a few weeks ago. My 4.5 year old wanted to have a little party for her friends and I needed an activity that didn't cost a lot and would distract them from the fact that I was not giving out 'loot' bags... (boy can that get expensive!)
last week I decided to sign up for the face-painting table for her school's fundraising event this coming saturday and have been watching YouTube and 'cramming' as much as I can before this event. Fortunately, the school is providing supplies, but UNfortunately, I have no idea what they will be. So I guess i'll bring what i've got, which is not much: just 3 little kits I bought in the Halloween section at the craft store, some brushes, that i'm sure are all wrong, and some sponges which are definitely wrong.
I am a musician/singer/teacher struggling to make ends meet. I do music classes for kids and just recently started doing music/games for kids' parties, and thought, well... why not add face paint too???
My 4 year old is very squirmy and impatient and has only let me practice on her 3 times. My 2 year old actually loves it, so I tried a few faces on her, too. But... i'm panicking a little because I take 10 minutes to do a face that should take 3-5. I'm sure it'll be easier though with kids who actually WANT to have their faces painted!
I studied painting in high school, and got pretty good at it. I've been able to adapt/change designs i've seen to work with the colors/supplies i've got, but the main problem I have is just not being super fast and not having the right brushes/ sponges. I can't afford to buy nice supplies right now (um... actually I can't afford to buy ANYTHING right now!) so I have to make do with what i've got.
anyway - learning so much from this forum and so glad to have found this new activity!
