Earth Heavy Duty Tall Directors Chair

Post by Stacia on Tue Oct 11, 2011 11:50 am

I'm so excited that my directors chair is on a UPS truck out for delivery today! I can't wait to set it up and test it out! Does anyone else have the same chair?

I've seen that some of you have the other version of the same chair that has a table attached...but I figured I really didn't need the table.

As soon as I get it I'll do a little review of my own on it Very Happy

That's exactly what I paid and where I bought it...but I upgraded to 1 day shipping for $4 on Prime Wink. I have a problem with delayed gratification. I'm so excited to get it, I'll let you know how it works.

I'd love a review. I want to know how much it weighs because my IKEA chairs are a little heavy. Congrats.

Denise, how much does the Ikea chair weigh? Do you have the folding chair that's $24? I want those so bad just for my house, but there's no Ikea in Boise and every time I go to Ikea it's when I'm flying home and I can't take them home with me. I guess a road trip to Utah would solve my problem Laughing. As for the chair I ordered...the company's website says 19lbs, but Amazon says 25lbs. When I get it I'll weigh it Wink

I got mine a month ago and love it! It's big - some kids get lost in it, but they don't slip out the back and can criss-cross applesauce with plenty of room. When you first use it, it's tight to open so I lay it on it's side, put one foot on the bottom rung and pull it up by the seat frame until it clicks in place. Of course, since I'm 75, you are probably a lot stronger!

That's my new chair and it is FAB! you should have gone for the side table- it is so convienient, and folds down in a snap. I set my black/white on it to keep it handy; and when I do glitter tats I move the whole tray to the side table so the kid can see all the glitters. It is SO sturdy. the kids can just climb on up and I don't even worry about it tipping. Also, seriously awesome henna chair. The mesh cargo net that attaches underneath keeps everything handy for when you're working down low. Can not say enough good about this.

I thought my chair was heavy but it's only 11.2 lbs. Smile It's an IKEA 25" bar stool. I tried the 29" but it's a little high for adults and, even though I try not to, I always end up lifting toddlers (mom's invariably have babes in arms) so the 25" has been better for me. I'll probably end up buying another.

I weighed my full Fat Max while I had the scale out and it's about 50 lbs. It is a little bit of a beast to load in my van but I have loved being able to wheel everything in and out of gigs in one trip. Now I just have to figure out a way to attach the chair so I don't have to hold it on one arm while I wheel Max around.

Denise, I have a solution for you. Smile. I drilled little holes in the bottom front of my FM and bought the big pegboard hooks to put on it when I need to. The are easy to take in and out so they don't get broken in the car or trip me while I work and I just set my folded stool on it and bungie it in place. Makes my life easy.

Yeah I have that chair too... with the table.
It's very light - but still a little cumbersome as even when it's folded flat it's still quite large.
I also have to lift the kids into it... some climb but most I lift.
I had a gig the other day when not one kid would lift their face up for me and my back was killing me by the end of the gig.
Still better then it hurting EVERY gig when I was sitting down.

Some kids waited for me to lift them and instead I showed them how to climb up! Then I said "If there's one thing every kid should know how to do it's climb!" Everyone chuckles and I'll never have to lift that kid again. Nora Susko had the best advice when it came to face painting young ones. She said "these kids will be your customers for the next 5 years; taking a little time to train them will benefit you in the long run"

Well I got my chair with only moments to spare before I had to leave for my gig, It's FREAKIN AWESOME! Since I've been painting sitting down for so long I had to get used to painting standing. My back still hurts, but not as bad. I think I definitely need to get a stool for kids to get up there, I didn't want to put the foot bar down because I've read reviews that said if people put too much weight on it it'll bend. I didn't have a chance to weigh it before I threw it in the trunk, and I'm so tired that I left all of my stuff in the trunk...so tomorrow.

Good Night my friends!
