I'm back!!!

Did you miss me???

Unfortunately I've had to take a hiatus from face painting for the past few months. I injured my left shoulder a couple of years back, and I noticed earlier this year that long fp gigs only made the pain worse. My last gig was in June; it lasted four hours, and I spent two weeks in severe pain after. Needless to say, I had to rethink my whole business because of it. I love face painting, but putting my health at risk just isn't worth it, especially since I am currently without health insurance.

So after months of contemplation and lots of thinking, I've decided to restructure the way I do business. No, I am not giving up face painting. However, I will no longer accept gigs that last longer than three hours. I am also delving into more of the party planning and entertainment scene, as those are things that I have loved doing since I started planning my own birthday parties at the age of seven. I still haven't figured out how I am going to market my newly rearranged business, as there is one party planning company in town that completely dominates the planning and entertainment scene (however, the owner is a bit rude, she charges way too much, uses high school students as entertainers and pays them below minimum wage, and she has them face painting with palmer paints, so all hope is not lost for me, because I do none of these things).

I have missed the face paint forum so much, and I have been meaning to get back on here for months. I just haven't had the time. I am taking a lot of classes this semester, and they are occupying most of my time. The only reason I have time right now is because we had a week off of school this week.

Yeah, so that is an update of what I have been doing. I've missed you all!

p.s., please forgive me if this post seems somewhat incoherent. I have a cold right now, and the medication I am taking makes me a bit loopy.

Welcome back! You're right, putting your health at risk isn't worth it...but leaving FP and this forum isn't so easy for us, facepaint-aholics. LOL

Man, it stinks that you have a cold on your week off! Glad you're finding a way to keep doing what you love

Welcome back! I've been gone too, many tragic things that culminated with my dad passing unexpectedly at 63. I hope you heal up completely and better than new!
