Re: The Colors of the Rainbow
The Kryolan Copper is REALLY a nice copper. A bit darker than 'new penny', but with the same tones and 'shiney' color. I love it for Tiger muzzles on my Copper Tigress.

Re: The Colors of the Rainbow
I really need to tighten up my kit - I am still playing with different brands - I am favoring paradise at the moment-Wouldn't it be great to have a perfect pallette recipe.
Re: The Colors of the Rainbow
I've got my favourite list on my resources page - the link is in my signature if you want to check it out...
Re: The Colors of the Rainbow
Shannon, has your list changed since you wrote it? I know you said you use a lot of DFX now...have certain colors proved better than Snaz or others for you?
What are your MOST used/most functional colors that will paint a really good variety of designs? Do you tend to use more darker shades or lighter ones of blue/purple/green?
What do you all use the Kryolan Silber and Bronze for the most? More accents or actual designs?

Re: The Colors of the Rainbow
I have some DFX... but still have Wolfe in my kit. I was given a DFX sampler palette... enough to test it! And I take it with me when I travel. I don't actually have any in my working kit... yet.
I have all the Wolfe in my kit that I listed.
As far as shades of blue/purple/green...
You need a green suitable for Hulk, TMNT, leaves and dragons ... so a mid to kelly green sort of shade. I've got Snaz Grass Green and Funky Foxes Bright Green.
Blue - I like the Sparkle Blue and Turquoise for all sort of things. I use a mid-blue (sort of a light royal blue) a lot for dragons and butterflies.
Purple - use Sparkle Lilac and Electric purple more than other purples.
Kryolan Interferenz Bronze - is pretty much used for lips and unicorn horns, scales and sometimes swirls.
Interferenz Silver/Silber is, I am afraid, hoarded!! It's too nice to waste on kids!
It's great rubbed dry over top of blacks or darker colours.. I rub it on dry to use as "eye shadow" too on lots of adult designs. It is "soft" enough to pick up on a sponge without using water.

Re: The Colors of the Rainbow
Ok, So my Paradise teaser palettes finally ran out. (and by the way - the turquoise in that palette broke my face out!)
I've recently bought Snaz Dark Orange (that I love), Snaz Dark Green, Wolfe Metallic Yellow (I used as FSU Gold), Snaz Rust Brown (used as garnet), Wolfe White and Wolfe Black - both great for line work. I am trying to stick with snaz because I plan on making some split cakes and want to use like paint. This list was composed taking in everyone's considerations and Shannon's list off of her reference page........ANY tips, tricks, opinions, suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!

Re: The Colors of the Rainbow
This thread is very interesting... I will definately look forward to the advices here
Re: The Colors of the Rainbow
Great question!!! Thanks for asking it!!!!!
Lana and I started out with Snaz, then my husband bought me the DFX small palates for Christmas and I was hooked! I got prof sizes of all the essential colors, and I pretty much work from those, and use the sampler of metallics for accents. I have decided I need a better brown, a softer colored orange, and a lavender, and I want to try some Interferenze. Soo pretty!

Re: The Colors of the Rainbow
I know I would like DFX cause I'm partial to Wolfe. Except - the wolfe black has irritated my skin on occasion. Not bad, just a little sensitive to it I guess. I'm doing a lot of daycares and smaller kids.... 4 or 5 and I use Snaz toy safety rating as a security blanket. LOL
Personally - I am partial to the Wolfe.....and long to try the DFX.
