Parking fee

Post by jolenebox on Mon Oct 17, 2011 2:59 pm

I did a party this weekend that involved me going to a national park for a party. The fee for parking was 4.00. I had told the patron since travel was over 20 miles there would be a 10.00 charge for gas. I just did not know how to bring up the fee and decided to swallow it. What are your thoughts?

I have a spot for them to fill out in my contract that mentions parking that way I know what to expect ahead of time. That way I can do my research and find out how much it will be to park there as well as figure out if I need to charge them for it Smile

I just pay the parking.
It's never that much - $5 or something... I mean it can come out of my $80 p/h... I'd feel pretty low hasseling for $5.
If you know in advance you just say - I need the travel to include the parking.

A lot of people have it in their contracts that the client has to supply parking close to the event.

I factor it into my travel. Just like my travel zones are by the city - the people at the east edge of Burnaby are going to pay the same as those on the west edge, even though it's closer. I figure it evens out and is the same as parking.

Downtown Vancouver is no further than central Van or North Van but I put it in a higher zone because driving d/t sucks and it's ALL pay parking.

I live in a rural area so my fee per hour is not so high yet. I would like to work up a client base. I have only been at it about 2 months so I think I need to work on a contract Embarassed That way it never feels icky cause its in black and white.

Yes...you know it makes it easier to have it all spelled out to refer to. I so totally am ok with paying agent fees if it means I don't have to dicker the contract, do the e-mails, etc. BUT, of I DO..it helps me tremendously to play "agent" and handle it the same way with everything on paper...

i just pay it and wear it. Most places in my city has no parking and at an event they usually accept im working there so they dont charge me.
