Any recommendations as to whose UV paints glow best in blacklight?
Hi all, I've been asked to bodypaint four guys for a Hallowe'en night at the nightclub. They want to glow under blacklight. Can anyone recommend the best brand that "glows" under black light please?

My kryolan aquacolor UV paints are definitely the brightest. I also have neons by DFx. They're pretty good, but not quite as intense.

I have Kryolan (haven't tried the others) and I can say that it glows great under black lights but it looks crappy in regular light and smells strongly of soap (which is not a horrible smell, but I prefer paints that don't smell like anything).

I have both Kryolan & Wolfe UV and they both are great. What really makes them "pop" are the areas you don't paint. The UV colors do not look as great under conventional light. I bought a UV backlight bulb that screws into a conventional light to check the progress of my painting.

hahaha my avatar is pretty awesome in the black lights. It is the Kryolan UV split cake.
But I have also used all the TAG neons and they work too.

I've got Wolfe which are great, Kryolan which I find really pops in sunlight (which is UV!!!) and also Fardel Creams. They all work and have their best uses - the Fardel I use for club work, fast swirls and speed. The Kryolan for outdoor gigs and the Wolfe for under UV lamps.

Has anyone tried mixing diamond FX neon white with non neon colours? Or laying it over the top? does it still glow?
Thanks

Thank you to all who answered my question with hints as well. x

UV White... does NOT make other colours UV. It shows through, and unlike other colours that you can block with black, it won't let you cover it. AND it lingers... you can wash it off and you are still glowing in UV light - like a club stamp!
Re: Any recommendations as to whose UV paints glow best in blacklight?
Thanks for the tip Shannon, I may rethink my UV choices in that case, I don't want party goers stepping our into the sunshine (In England? Not such a great chance of that then!) The next morning and partially glowing still even after removing the paint.

I just signed up to thank you for this helpful thread. I was looking for some UV paint, and I almost bought some garbage paint that probably has product image Photoshopped. Thankfully this thread pointed me in the right direction. I got myself some wolfe neon paint.
Now... how is this stuff applied? Do I put some water in the palette? Paint thinner? Varsol? Realistically how much coverage can I expect from 30gm?

That's pretty funny Shannon!
I wonder how long after you've washed off the paint will you still have a slight "glow" about you?

Oh, definitely paint thinner diluted with kerosene in a ratio of 1 part to 2 parts....it really the "kapow" factor! Frankly, that's the mixture I only use on those who are under six years of age when they're dancing in clubs. For adults, I skip straight to draino - who would have thought it works so as a face paint diluent?!?

Julie, you crack me up!
Kryolan is water activated & I think works best with a sponge technique.
