Wolf Halloween Face

Post by Taradoodles on Wed Oct 19, 2011 5:50 pm

Oh Boy! I think Ive done it! I have booked my first ever one on one adult face painting session! He wants a scary wolf face for a party hes going to. OI!! I told him my paints wash off easily but he still wants the whole face painted. (I was thinking food and drinking at party...not to mention dancing)

I have never even DONE a wold before and I have two days to practice, I researched and saw a few good ones on here Im going to merge and inspire to make my own. Especially since he wants a BROWN wolf face, lol Im just generally nervous, its for Saturday after I paint two kids parties. I will either be warmed up or tired. Maybe both! lol

any good ideas you wouldnt mind sharing Id love to have. There dosent seem to many wolf designs floating about the net. its about like an elephant face...darn hard to do!
also, on a side note METINAS photo kept cropping up in my SCARY WOLF FACE PAINT search...lol thanks in advance, ~T

oh yes, I had him send me a head shot so i could hopefully start planning where things will go. angles and such... anyone else do that to help? or is this a silly thing to do?

The Wolfe Brothers "Extreme Face Painting" has a fierce wolf in their book. I bought the book for $25 Canadian. You could go and look up the book at your Barnes & Noble, or Amazon and then go home to practice to make it your own.
I have loaned out my book to my Facepainter partner so, alas, I cannot copy it for you.
Here in Canada, we are always surrounded by swirling snow & hear the howling wolves. Always.

And that's good because you would be breaking the law.

It is a very awesome wolf...the Extreme face painting book is fantastic...get it. What I like about it is the 3-D effect of the mouth because they use the bottom lip and chin to make the mouth and it looks like upper teeth and tongue. Cool. There's also an old-school movie werewolf.

Good luck.

I recently had to come up with a wolf face, and had no idea how to do one! I am actually painting the girl tomorrow morning. I had a good look round on the net and on this forum, and came up with the one on my gallery - it's not a scary one, but gives you an idea of the great ideas and inspiration you can get from all the talented people on here!

Google an actual wolf face and see if you can figure your design from there... that way you can see exactly how the face works and figure out how to fit in on the human face to make it look more realistic.

I've got brown wolves... grey wolves... white wolves...

These photos are both grey, but you get the idea. I have photos of brown, but they are on my other computer and I am just getting ready for work so don't have time to get on it. I did a whole wolf pack for the Jungle Book.

The second photo is actually one I painted on a guy for Halloween last year - his wife made the appointment for him (she was Red Riding Hood). It is face paint... and it does last all night on adults. They know they are wearing make-up and are generally careful enough.

When I do a full face, I tell them to eat beforehand and to take a straw to the event to drink through. Their face will stay nicer much longer.
