Wolf Novelties

Post by Misha on Fri Oct 28, 2011 1:44 pm

Hi all! I'm a very wet behind the ears newbie with yet another ? for everyone. I was happy to find an Essential Colors mini palette by Wolf Novelties at a local party store marked down to $3 each. It has red, yellow, blue, green, black, and a double sized white for a total weight of 15.25g. I'm wondering if , IYHO, I should buy more and if I can combine the like colors to make a larger cake or can make split cakes of them?

On a side note I love this site! I have learned soooo much already from everyone, thank you all for sharing your experience with those of us just learning! I totally wish I had an "I'm not worthy!" emoticon to insert here!

Yes you can combine, make split cakes or stock the containers with other colors (when you get more variety in the future). At $3 each, I'd buy a number of them....

That's an insane deal! I just bought a DFX one off Amazon (same red, blue, green, yellow, black, doubly white) and it cost me $16!

The regular price of those on the WolfeFX website is $6.00. So yeah, that's a pretty good deal. Looking at it another way, you're getting a total of 15 grams for $3.00, and the single colour 30 gram cakes are usually around $8 each. So it's less than half the price per gram. That's a nice way to make some split cakes and try some of the basic colours for cheap without having to lay out a lot of money for each colour.

Here's the link to the item on the WolfeFX site, I'm pretty sure this is what you're talking about:
