Zippers...
I'm very new to face painting and am enjoying it, I have seen some designs with zippers used to give the impression of "unzipping" the face and revealed what's underneath. How do you do these??? Thanks in advance

Re: Zippers...
I cut away the fabric so that all is left is the zipper itself. Lay out your design area (like a wedge of your face) in the closest color of your zipper. Paint inside that wedge, then use glitter tattoo glue or eye lash adhesive and lay the zipper down on your face and hold til it sticks (just a few seconds). Cut the excess zipper from the top so that it doesn't have any sticking out.
Hope that helps!

I like your zipper application... it is way neater and clean looking than the ones with the side edges sealed down with latex etc. Cutting them off and just attaching the actual zipper is very tidy!

Thanks! I used one today on a friend's son who wanted all kinds of gore and mess for Halloween. He bought some prosthetic stuff from party city (like an all inclusive set) I don't know if it was bc the prosthetic was SO thick or bc I am inexperienced with spirit gum, but I could not get that thing to stick and stay down for anything. I finally got one on, slathered in in blood, then put a zipper on the rest of his face. I will try to add a picture tomorrow! What a mess that was! lol I was seriously thinking about buying some extra spirit gum when in goes 1/2 off tomorrow, but I think I will pass!

I have been interested in the zipper thing but haven't tried it yet.Maybe $.25 day at Goodwill would be a good place to get zippers?
Re: Zippers...
I love it mugshots - may I ask how you managed to remove the material? I'm sitting here trying to cut it all off and it just isn't working
