Question on black and white.

Post by gcarey2121 on Tue Nov 01, 2011 10:57 am

I'm am fairly new to face painting and havent dabbled with the different brands. I have been using wolfe and it seems to work for me. So I had a Fall Festival to do and had a week to get supplies. Surprise NO WOLFE BLACK OR WHITE. UGH!!!. scratch So i bought FAB black and white. I seem to be having trouble with the consistency. Any advice on how to make it work for me? Is wolfe black and white better to work with?

I'm hooked on Wolfe...never tried FAB, if I can't get Wolfe, I go for DiamondFX. Haven't tried a lot of TAG, but they were my back-up after DFX last year and I really like their pearl white for bases & line work both.

Thanks Anniel. It just seems like when I lay my brush down the paint is heavey on the sides and the middle has barely any paint. And the black seems dull almost dark grey when it dries.

Ahh, the all-wise Suzy!!! (I always pre-order for Halloween in early September, and the same in Spring for busy busy times, as basic seem to run low most everywhere..) This year there was supposedly a world-wide shortage on one of the ingredients...

I have like 4 90 grams... I just buy like 4 to 5 a year all at once and then I don't have to think about it again... or run out! Smile

I buy one or two Wolfe white and black every trade show or event I'm at (when I can find stock) - then I just use them in order so I always have extra available, but I'm using the oldest....

I was going to order that Wolfe white from that site, but shipping is $8.00, no matter the size of the order. So if you order just one little pot of paint, you pay $8?? No thanks!

Yup, but if you spend $100 it's free shipping! So I bought 6 90gr pots of Wolfe white, haha. I'm good for a bit, now Razz

Not sure what their shipping is like or if they have it in stock, but evilfirelizard has really cheep paint prices that could make a small order worthwhile.

I also like fab, but not for line work. I know I am in the minority, but I even like the smell...reminds me of the Estee Lauder Counter, it brings kind of old nice memeories to me.

I like the smell, too. I just worry about allergies to the scent. The white is too "thick" for me, tho. Kinda like Snaz; not good for line work.
