Collectible Magnets and Sponsorship Ad
Last year when I did my client Christmas card mail out, I included business-card sized magnets - pretty much the front side of my regular cards.
This year, I wasn't sure if I should do something different again (the first couple of years I just sent regular business cards), then decided that I wanted to do magnets again - but not the same ones, since a lot of my clients would then be getting doubles. I decided to start doing different ones each year - making them collector's! Haha.
And I figured that the first photo I should put on there should be the alien design that got me 2nd place in the Snaz contest, so I my clients can have my labeled award winning work on their fridge
I am about to place the order, but wanted to post here first to make sure it's coming across like I want it to and not like a crazy idea...(my dad was all, "um, why did you pick this picture?" lol).
What do you think? It will be business card sized. This has a lot of purple (my monitor is making it look blue right now...)for the bleed, so the purple border on the actual magnets will be much smaller - probably less than 1/3.

Re: Collectible Magnets and Sponsorship Ad
Got my magnets back - they're awesome! It is a bit odd to send an alien face to my clients at Christmas - but they'll get over it
So, I'm sponsoring a month in a calendar raising funds for Ovarian Cancer (hopefully Feb 2012) and I've just finished putting my ad together that will be at the bottom of my month. It will be 8.5" across.
I wanted a little of everything - what do you think?

Right after I posted this I changed the belly/tiger photo so it angled counter-clockwise slightly. Looked odd being straight on when everything else was angled
Re: Collectible Magnets and Sponsorship Ad
I think it's gorgeous.... I'd love to see that on a calendar ad
Re: Collectible Magnets and Sponsorship Ad
Nice! Did you pick the month? I would have fought to get October myself!
Re: Collectible Magnets and Sponsorship Ad
Thank you! The sample they sent was really bright and clean, and I wanted something that "matched".
Haha I did get my choice and thought about October - but I wanted a month that people would see right away and have in the back of their mind the whole year. (If I have a 12-16 month calendar - as opposed to a 365/one a day calendar - I look through all the photos right away - but I can't be sure that everyone else does!)
The calendars are being sold out of my dance studio and at the Taboo Show - which doesn't happen until Jan 22nd. I originally wanted January 2012 - but thought there wasn't a point if it was mostly over when people bought theirs!
Next year I'm going to see if I can get some pro shots of body painting done on the pole, and can use the entire month as advertising...

Re: Collectible Magnets and Sponsorship Ad
Hmm... well, once I pass a month and flip the page I don't remember the ads. But if you had October ... you'd get the Halloween inquiries and the Christmas party planners.
Re: Collectible Magnets and Sponsorship Ad
Six of one, half-dozen of the other...lol. Christmas I'm not too worried about (touch wood). Schedule's crammed pretty full, plus everyone seems to want December 10th from 11:00-1:00 and I can only be in one place at one time, anyway
October with Halloween is a good point, but I think I'd hate it more if October came and mom said, "Oh shoot! Sally's birthday was in August and I just saw this now"...
If I find that Feb was a bust, then I'll try for September/October for 2013's calendar!

Re: Collectible Magnets and Sponsorship Ad
Hope it works. I don't do a lot of birthdays. That's why I'd target the other stuff. But it could work for Mardi Gras, St Pats too!
