Thanks...I love taking pictures. I hope to combine the two somehow into one business...but one thing at a time.

Just kidding. I wake up in the morning, pour myself some coffee and head straight to the paint station where it all comes back to me. "School can wait honey... I need to test something out on you!"

I love homeschooling!

I know. I was up until 1:30 last night working on my Avatar painting. Still have to figure our the nose, but the eyes are cool.

LOL! Enjoy it while you can. My homeschool kids hide from me when the paints come out(they're 18, 16, 15 & 10).

I hear you! I cannot get them to model for me without them getting something out of it anymore. Can't blame them. They've surrendered to my sponging, brushing, and do-overs since they were toddlers. Now that they're teens, they're right where they're supposed to be... learning how to negotiate for themselves. We have a business relationship now.

My line is, "Want to earn some money or should I ask someone else who does?" I stock Dutch Bros. gift cards, special chocolate bars, and DQ certificates for times when I'm short on cash. Or I'll say, "Make you a deal. I'll make homemade pizza of your choice if you model for me." or "Your choice RedBox plus a soda for 1 full face sbs."

Sometimes they ask ME, "Need any modeling right now?" when they want a quick buck or two. haha

I have 3 kids... 7 year old twins and 9 year old. I bribe them. Im not ashamed to admit it.

"hi my name is Lynne and I bribe my kids to paint their faces... "

Maybe we should start a support group for us... Or our kids Laughing

Melting Snowman

Post by christelize on Tue Nov 15, 2011 5:33 pm

Here is my whimsical holiday submission called Melting Snowman. I saw a cookie made like this once and thought it would be a cute face painting. I took my time with it for the contest but I believe it can also be in a quick version as well using a sponge and less outlining. Here it is, hope you enjoy!

Tools:
Round Brushes: Sizes 8, 4, 3 and 0

Paints:
DFX Colors: White, Black, Metallic Green, and Metallic Baby Blue
Snazaroo Colors: Red, Brown, and Orange
Mama Clown White Glitter (didn't show up too well in the photos but in person it give a nice effect)

Make a melting snow background on forehead, down nose and sides of face and circle for snowman's head in center of forehead:

Add blue highlights:

Add details to the snowman and "body" (nose, eyes, mouth, arms, scarf, arms, mittens and coal buttons - I totally forgot to put the coal buttons "floating" down the front so if you can just picture it in your mind because I'm a little under the weather right now!):

Outline finely with black, as much or as little as you want (I went a little crazy here - next time I will use less!) and add glitter if you want:

Re: Post Submissions Here!

Okay, here is me using my big ole forehead again! LOL
I used Paradise white & blue for the background. Then painted on some big ole Christmas lights on the side of my eyes using a #4 Loew Cornell brush and Paradise red, Tag Purple& Blue shimmers. Outlined it in black DFX.

Using DFX White & my #4 LC brush I made my silly Santa beard, eyes and fur. Paradise brown and white for the nose. I made the rest of the Santa and lights from Paradise colors, then outlined the whole deal in DFX black using my #2 Loew Cornell. Then finished it off with some white starbursts& snow dots using DFX white. santa
